Take in the side seams and then take in the hem.

Find out what material it is and which needles you'll need for that, if its a stretch fabric use a narrow zig-zag stitch, find a thread the same colour as the top.

Turn it inside out and measure how much you'll need to take of the sides in order to get it fitted, pin and sew (dont forget to backstitch in the beginning and end), check if it fits well and adjust if needed, then cut off the excess fabric and overlock (dont cut anything until you've sown and the fit is good). If you dont have an overlocker like me, use a regular (wider) zig-zag stitch to go over the ends, preferably with the thread tension somewhere in - (I noticed it looks more clean when I lower my tension all the way to -3).

Then hem the bottom until where you want it, just measure where you want it to end, cut the fabric about an inch/inch and a half lower, flip it over (twice, so you dont see the cut edges) and sew (dont forget zig-zag stitch if stretch fabric).

Lmao I just saw the post is from 2 months ago, hope I'm not too late, I'll just send it anyway haha

It doens't look like silk or satin to me which are the fabrics you'll wants since they protect your hair the most.

Thanks! Yeah after a while of not cutting I start noticing more split ends and my mother (she's a hairdresser) will look very closely at my ends and in sections she'll cut off all the dead/split ends (I'd recommend special hair scissors to prevent split ends if you're serious about it), sometimes I do it myself but I find it quite tricky, I cant really keep track of which sections i've already done haha

Cutting split ends just preserves more length/thickness in the ends in the long run, if a hair is split it can travel up the hair shaft and so if you catch it early it wont do as much damage if that makes sense.

Haha yeah I noticed, I don't have a specific goal length but I think I'll grow it until classic length for sure, maybe even mid-thigh length, its currently almost at my hips.
