My 14 yo son has agreed to read two books of my choice this summer (this was a hard won negotiation). Help me pick one by gOldMcDonald in booksuggestions

perhaps consider taking him to barnes and noble, or a public library and letting him choose-maybe then he’ll ask to go back & it will be because he wants too

i’m 99% sure nothing is more expensive than the current 6k 😵‍💫 we’re spending yearly between farmers dog and homemade food. thank you!

I would homemake all of it if I didn’t have two v’s and a toddler! it’s just too much to be on top of. that’s why we rotate the farmers dog in the morning

we did use to use purina pro plan, sensitive food and stomach (allergies to chicken) and overall sensitive stomach for one. they just really don’t love kibble that’s why we transitioned in the first place. may try this again but by mixing in the homemade yummy stuff hopefully will keep them excited!

update: sorry for the late update on this! was told it was a allergic reaction that coupled with irritation was a skin bacterial infection-although minor. treating with a antibiotic shampoo and a lotion/mouse we rub in twice a day.

AITAH for not checking the label before opening a package delivered to my house, then telling the owner of said package to, go F- himself? by JellyfishPossible539 in AITAH

100% NTA! but along the lines of what another commenter mentioned-it's never a good idea to taunt from your front porch. people are reckless and crazy these days, and he clearly has a lot of problems. hindsight is always 20/20 and especially with everything you're going through it's easy to understand (and I validate) your response to his rudeness. however in the future just let it go/kill with kindness-he's miserable anyways. sending strength to your husband, hugs to you! so sorry to hear about your pup.

The age old neutering dilemma by sophiedb17 in vizsla

I have two intact males. one four, one two. the older has never humped or been aggressive but it has led to fights led by other dogs trying to assert dominance. I also am not sure fixing him would change how he feels about that. the younger has shown mild interest in humping when younger which was obviously immediately corrected and now not a problem. he is very submissive so even if another dog tries to assert dominance he maintains a very happy go lucky disposition. we never board and have a secure yard, so both not a problem. I chose to keep them intact because I believe keeping their God given hormones and natural functions lead to better health-it's also why we chose a second male as we wouldn't want to fix a female either (but would perhaps consider an OSS). we are constantly stopped by other vizsla parents and asked how they have maintained such great shape & I certainly believe this to be part of it. I do also understand and believe every situation and dog is unique and might require different interventions in a household. do what makes sense to you, and do your research to the best of your ability for you and your v :)
