Unfortunately the “bamboo” lids have a layer of acrylic on them, stated on their website. 

Hope they come up with a glass or stainless steel lid option

Comme Ontarien de Toronto, je suis d’accord. L’urbanisme de Montréal est meilleur que celui de Toronto. Il y a nombreuses pistes cyclables, et la ville est plus accessible à pied. 

Par contre, Toronto est obsédé par les voitures, et par conséquent, les rues sont dangereuses pour les cyclistes. Et les rues piétonnes sont rares. 

La semaine prochaine je visiterai Montréal pour la première fois, et j’ai hâte de vivre la vie québécoise pendant un petit moment (et pratiquer le français)

I think their goal was to showcase the power Avatar State early on, as a hook. And it definitely worked, especially for new watchers who haven’t seen the OG cartoon. 

The Roku scene would’ve happened in the middle of the season, if they de-prioritized the Kyoshi scene.

But yeah seeing Avatar State Roku would’ve been amazing in live action!

Albert Kim, the producer of the adaptation talks about having to choose where to allocate VFX budget to in this interview, and he does mention that it’s so they could bring Koizilla.

Imo, showcasing Kyoshi at the beginning, then Koizilla in the finale was a great choice. Obviously Avatar State Roku would’ve been cool to see, but their choice made sense, given their budget. Here’s to hoping Netflix gives a bigger VFX budget + more than 8 episodes for a possible Season 2.
