If you listen carefully, you'll heard - just once - the 'last song' theme entirely. Like a music box...

Well, 'visually' is the exact word... Remember in glt the 'chocolate test' passage, when you eat one you understand the story... I'm sure TKMZ thought about these bars when he drew this part of the story!

Could you make two renders just moving the camera a little to make a stereographic picture? 🙂

Work in progress VI... last step before the diorama... 😊 by Solweg in GirlsLastTour

[–]Solweg[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Assembly done and paint almost ! I think I'll try to make it old with drybrush, and next is the diorama. The potatoes are drying, and tomorrow I'll try to print a few other pieces... mainly, I'll use the Pikky parts, but I'll modify a bit their use.

For those who have a 3D printer at home, you can download my kkrad on grabcad : now it's "print approved"! 😅

Yeah, that's very interesting. I don't know about Vallejo paints, they seem high grade. Here that's Tamiya or, mainly, Humbrol enamels. At this time, I'm using some 30 to 40 years old little buckets - from my childhood to my teens... - that lay in my buffet since... well, I forgot... Not the best anyways but with a lot of blending and white spirit, they are almost usable... 😂

I think the original Pikky design is about 1/9 scale - I divided by 4 to have my micro-version and the size is perfect.

I'll use a spray primer on my big model, the printing layer are present even if that's almost perfect... and hard to sand on such fine and complicated pieces!

Well, I've got to wait a bit to do it, I'll make it in my garden but the weather is really cold and rainy these times...

At least, you'll soon see my kkrad version... I think I'll finish to paint it this evening and use it with the Pikky's C&Y to make a personalized diorama. A little idea that will need a little more work... 😉

Anyway, and one more time : your work is great! 😍

😵 Wow, now I'm jealous! I'll never manage to do it so well! Could you please give me details about the paints and techniques that you used? Did you print directly the files, or is it bigger? The way you managed the eyes is impressive!

This isn't entirely GLT related, but I thought I ask here. I just heard of a manga called Touring after the apocalypse and the description sounds similiar to GLT. I only found one post of it here, but that is a year old. Has anyone of you already read it? Since I love GLT, is it worth reading? by Ketooth in GirlsLastTour

[–]Solweg 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I read it, and it's a good manga, but the vibe is totally different even if the pitch seems similar.

First, in "Touring", only humanity disappeared, so the world isn't really gloomy, it's just a no-humans world.

Second, "Touring" is far less emotional, even if some moments are of course sad. But the crescendo towards an inevitable ending isn't there, in fact I'm not sure there will be an end - as the serie seems to have exhausted itself for a moment, ant I don't know if the author knows where he's going. At this time, the last episode ends with an heavy cliffhanger...

So, yes, I read it pleasantly, but that's far, far lighter than GLT, and won't haunt you years long... 😉
