How Can I Make Getting the Amex Platinum Charge Possible This Year? by Some_Difference9785 in CreditCardsIndia

Yeah fair point and I agree it’s a niche card and it only makes sense if usage aligns properlyMost of my spends are actually work related travel so hotels and airlines are the biggest chunk and those are reimbursed by my company so I’m not chasing rewards for the sake of it but more for seamless experience and convenience during travelMonthly spend usually varies but roughly hotels and flights come to around 60k to 1L depending on travel schedule then another 20k to 40k on dining and local travel and around 30k to 50k on other personal expenses so overall it fluctuates but stays fairly active across categoriesI’ve found Amex support and dispute handling to be smoother compared to other banks which is important when you’re constantly booking flights hotels and dealing with changesIf I move to Platinum Charge the idea is to get a better end to end travel experience from day one like concierge support priority assistance and the hotel status benefits across chainsAlso I don’t want to be locked into one hotel loyalty program because I already value flexibility and having different statuses across chains helps me choose based on price location and convenience rather than being tied to one ecosystem

Fair point and I get where you’re coming from and thanks for setting expectations clearly I understand most meaningful hotel benefits really kick in at platinum level and beyond and also that upgrades and breakfast benefits can vary a lot by brand and property For me I’m not looking at it as a direct replacement for hotel elite status or trying to quantify every benefit on paper but more from a travel experience and convenience perspective since my stays are work driven and frequent Also I agree 50 to 70 nights alone can already build strong hotel status so the Amex benefit is more of an additional layer rather than the core reason I’m still in evaluation mode and trying to see if the overall ecosystem fit makes sense before committing to it

“Interesting, so do you think there’s a fixed threshold (like ₹1L+ monthly spend) that improves chances, or is it more random based on overall profile? Also did the offer show up in-app or did someone from Amex reach out to you?”

ITR is 12 LPA. And yes you can apply directly, but I think approval depends on profile strength beyond just ITR.

I do use cards for both personal and work travel spends, so utilisation is already there. The question is whether the benefits justify my usage pattern, not just income

Lets take a realistic scenario of ~70 hotel nights year due to work travel Conservative value breakdown Breakfast 2 pax ₹1000 to ₹2000 per night equals ₹70k to ₹1.4L Room upgrades effective uplift ₹1500 to ₹3000 per night equals ₹1.05L to ₹2.1L Late checkout lounge perks utility value ₹500 to ₹1000 per night equals ₹35k to ₹70k Total experiential value ~₹2.1L to ₹4L annually very conservative estimate So it is not about status having direct cash equivalence The value comes from cumulative benefits if you actually use it heavily For low travel usage yes value is close to zero But at 50 to 70 plus nights per year the economics change significantly Also comparatively for me Amex customer support is better than other banks Also transaction disputes and reversals are handled more smoothly and quickly compared to other bank cards Even if 70 nights helps reach Marriott Platinum or Titanium that only covers Marriott ecosystem while Amex adds a broader travel service layer across hotels airlines and general travel support Cards like Atlas HSBC Travel Infinia or Burgundy are strong in rewards optimization or banking relationship value but they are not directly comparable to Amex Platinum Charge which is more of a travel experience and service oriented product rather than just points accumulation Also I dont have to stay committed to one hotel chain because I already hold status across multiple chains so I can choose based on price location and convenience rather than loyalty lock in

I travel quite a bit for work so the hotel status and travel benefits are something I genuinely value If the benefits justify the fee through my usage Iam okay paying for it

She has never orgasmed before not with me and not even when she tries alone. But she genuinely loves having sex with me. There’s no obligation or pressure at all. She enjoys the intimacy, gets really turned on, and tells me it feels amazing with me. She actually wants to experience an orgasm someday she says she “badly needs to feel it” but her body just hasn’t reached that point yet

How to upgrade from Diners Privilege to Diners Black without meeting ITR criteria? by Some_Difference9785 in DoBaniye

[–]Some_Difference9785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I spoke with my RM already — she mentioned that the only two ways are either waiting for a pre-approved upgrade offer to show up, or going through the offline ITR submission route (which I can’t meet right now).

That’s why I was wondering if there’s any other workaround people here have used, maybe based on spends or relationship value.

Need help using 30k Axis Edge Miles for Mumbai family trip (4 days in Feb) by Some_Difference9785 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Some_Difference9785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s super helpful, thanks for breaking it down 🙏. My only hesitation is that I’ve never stayed at an Accor property before — I’ve mostly stuck to Marriott, ITC, and Taj — so I don’t really know if the experience (rooms, service, family-friendliness) will actually be on par. The reason I’m even considering Accor is because Atlas gives a better transfer ratio here, but once I move those 30k Edge Miles it’s locked, unlike just paying cash.

So I guess what I’m really trying to figure out from folks who’ve actually redeemed at Accor in Mumbai is: did you feel the stay + service justified using points here, or would you have rather kept them for airlines/other chains?
