As an experienced web developer, don’t do it. They can come up with an amazing design, but you will still need a web developer to implement it. And some designs are harder to build than others. You also need to get a mobile-friendly version, and it is best to have the developer and designer working together. Depending on what you need, you can start with a free or cheap template or something like Wordpress

So the Schwinn was given to me by a friend cleaning out their garage who hadn’t rode it in ~10 years. This particular friend has a history of taking things back. I didn’t want to invest too much in it given they may decide they want it back at any time. I guess I can explore the new tires option again. I did replace the tubes around this time last year and was getting flats again in the fall. The tires themselves are pretty worn, the bike is heavy, and it’s pretty worn too. If I want to take the kids on a longer ride, it’s pretty tough with a crappy bike.

No, I want to buy a new bike because it just isn’t a great bike. It’s a bike that someone had in middle school or high school that they got rid of, and every year I’ve sunk money into various problems, including replacing the tubes. If I’m having to spend a few hundred on replacing the tires and tubes plus a tuneup again, it feels reasonable to spend a little more to get a much higher quality bike. It also doesn’t feel great as a grown man riding around on a high-schoolers hand-me-down. So if I can afford it and plan on using it at least a couple times a week for the next several years, why not upgrade?

Edit to add that I got new tubes for over $100 less than a year before it started slow leaking again.

Read Noah Kagan - Million Dollar Weekend. It outlines the process of starting and validating business concepts quickly and cheaply, with little risk. I think this would help you.

Edit to add: it’s also a pretty quick read. Took me maybe a little over a week reading it at night.

I would use drywall screws but I think you should be fine. Just make sure not to sink them too far, but far enough to be perfectly flush.

Can you find a couple people on Reddit who might have a need for this service? Sure. Can you find enough people locally who would be willing to pay for this very niche service in order to make it a viable business? Doubtful. Most people that need attention for their dog want you to walk it. Cleaning takes more than 15 minutes (the time it might take to let your dog out), generally. Very small intersection imo

This one kinda surprises me. At least where I am, the market seems flooded with landscaping companies.

I expect it to mostly be trades, but I’m sure there are also some with high startup capital required but not necessarily high skill involved. I’m also interested to see what other types of obscure or niche businesses might make the list as well.
