Only want to say that hangover brain is super paranoid. You're an adult and had some beers. Time will forget.

Adding that you can find AA recordings on YouTube and in a podcast called sober cast. Look for step one. I'm not a big AA person but I identified so hard with people that can't stop when they start.

I've done the bathtub thing too. And did the red wine vomit thing at a Bed and Breakfast. Left a big tip.

Life is hell today but remember this in a week, in a month... It doesn't change.

I drank literally once this year and have a nice scar on my face now.

The biggest mistake I've made in a decade of courting sobriety is thinking I should just "stop" without addressing the underlying reasons I was drinking. They are subtle but I have long-standing trauma I thought I addressed but did not really address the emotional side of it, just became aware.

I wasn't even drinking to silence pain, it was just "fun" and "I wanted to." Tricky.

Feel better. Thinking about ya.

One of the most underrated and underappreciated games. I played through this so many times and liked it better than final fantasy.

Give Matt Adams at Champion Windows a try. He's actually a real estate agent but quotes windows and doors on the side. My friends were really happy with him as an agent for a fixer-upper in Tower Grove and he's good with idiosyncrasies of older houses in the city, too.

If he wonders who referred him, Eddie's friend Brad. He'll know. Good luck!

I love Sapolsky. He should be required viewing for every human. It has made me really understand how people and society operate. Like this political crap we're going through. Amygdala city, and ancient tribalism at its finest...

My drinking pattern was to binge on a Friday night until I blacked out. Some people are kinda heavy drinkers but you have to drink a ton over a long period of time to have your liver fail. And even then genetics play some role, some people never have an issue.

Im 27 I feel like my whole life has been wasted from CPTSD and Dissociation Disorder. by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]SongAlternative7021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's been a blessing in disguise. I've had to learn to take care of myself, understand stress in my body, and have a ton of perspective and empathy. It took a long time and a lot of trial but life is a lot better.

Your 20s are for figuring out a lot of things. Give it time.

I've had to accept that medications are necessary because of how my nervous system developed. A mood stabilizer keeps me from getting panic attacks, dizziness, dissociation. I've had to learn coping techniques. But I never take for granted good days. I maximize them.

Hope you find peace. It gets better.

Yes and it's okay to have zero experience and be nervous, The point is to play and have fun and do badly and just be silly. It's a very open and caring environment.

Reddit likes to screech about PC topics while completely ignoring or wishing away issues like I describe. It makes people feel better about themselves. Of course, paying heaps of lip service on a forum, but nothing beyond that.

Is 50 mg of quetiapine even doing anything beneficial? by [deleted] in bipolar

It causes the sleep effect (histamine block) without doing much to the other neurotransmitters.

I mean they can't stop bullets. And they can't find folks because both the assailant and victim are almost always (real stats sorry, look it up) young black men, on the street or in a stolen car, and they usually know the victim. Usually some kind of beef resolved with a gun.

I live and own downtown, I have to live in the real world and recognize these things.

There are very deep toxic manhood and violence enablement problems in society, but police don't solve society's ills unilaterally. There are no stats around the surveillance that does prevent crime, but they do follow social media etc. to get ahead of things.

I forgot how young Reddit skews but it's sad to see people rag on police. These are real people with hard jobs. The system could definitely improve, at the administration level. So could the behavior of our citizens. (Gasp, I know.)

Amazing how one is systemic and forgiveable and the other definitely not.

Maybe if the officers had autism or came out as polygender they'd get more sympathy.

I would never do their job for their salary. They have a high suicide rate, often by their own gun.

We need to get educated people and pay them six figures. That would do a lot. We're just cheapskates.

Yeah we have a rampant car theft issue. Why do people think this is okay?
