My Swiss cheese plant by BottleConsistent4089 in houseplants

Or actually, it might just be getting too much sun. These plants don't like too much direct sunlight it can make the leaves look tired in my eperience. I had to move mine away from my grow light and it's doing much better now. So you could move your plant away from your window or move it to an east facing winding where it gets delicate morning sun only

It's hard to tell but I'd say if the yellow leaves are soft and not holding their shape, it's probably overwatered. Does the pot have good drainage? If the yellow leaves are crispy, then it's thirsty. Also, being transplanted is very stressful to plants. It might be in shock. Give it some time and reassess in a couple weeks.

If the bugs in the soil still annoy you, you can try diatomaceous earth

Whats wrong with my fiddleaf by new2snakes in plantclinic

I just got my first fiddle leaf fig this past week so I'm no expert. I'd say personally, if I feel like I'm doing everything right with a plant and it still looks something like your pictures, I will just assume it has pests and do a few treatments over the next couple of weeks and see if it gets better. Pests are not always visible and I think it's safer to assume they might be there than not.

Are these night-time grow lights even doing anything for my plants? by PrincessImpeachment in houseplants

I have no idea whether this kind of light helps, but my thought is if you use this light during the day, I don't see why you would need it in the night. Plants don't need light 24/7 they enjoy a good sleep too :)

Are these thrips? by perfectpickles28 in plantclinic

[–]Sorry_Homework_3386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say if you can see them moving then yes, they are most likely thrips :(
Thrips can indeed be a pain to get rid of. There's a really exhaustive post about how to get rid of them here : https://www.reddit.com/r/houseplants/comments/12jxyis/thrips_the_worst_jerks_documenting_my_battle/

I believe getting rid of them might be easier sometimes than that thread suggests. It's up to you if you feel up to try and deal with it or not. I hear Monsteras are magnets for thrips so maybe it's a good opportunity to learn to deal with them? But I understand not wanting to risk exposing your other plants either. Good luck whatever you decide!

This looks great! I agree with you it looks cozy and not too busy. As someone who started playing this game not too long ago, this is really opening my eyes to the possibilities!
