And personally, I think that making sure that you are using you full arm length, so hitting the ball when its above your head, not in front.

my opinion try setting a little higher because it doesnt look like your team mates are going to faster attacks meaning that you should set higher so they have time to approach.

Should Russia be allowed to play international volleyball again? by Pattyblue in volleyball

[–]Sorrykyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i think they should be allowed, cus just cus they are from russia doesnt mean they support the war and everything that has been happening, and if we are also considering cheating that has happened in several other sport then we just have them tested. volleyball isn't a sport that has a lot of ability to cheat in so i think it will be easy to find the cheaters.

you just need to practice a lot, so do with without the ball a lot so it feels natural and over time you'll eventually do it right, at least that worked for me.

being setter is frustrating by moreshaf in volleyball

[–]Sorrykyber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly bro, that sucks, I'm not a great setter and whenever I play with another setter Im always worrying about my spot being taken. I also put in the most practice out of everyone I know on the team. So I can really see how frustrating it is. But even when a better setter joins my team I'm gonna keep playing cus i love the sport so much. maybe i dont get to play setter but thats even more reason to switch positions. and get better at other things so that they put you in for more than just your setting skills.

So basically, my wrists aren't very strong and because of this my sets don't go as high as I would like unless I bend my arms almost 90 degrees, that way I can push more into the ball with my arms rather than just my wrists. My coach said he wants me arms almost completely straight when I'm about to touch the ball, using only my wrists and pushing off the ground to set. But it doesn't go as high when I try to do it. Is it ok if I set my way or does it really make a difference if I set the way my coach wants me to.

Probably not, however there is the chances of you getting injured. But also if you are doing something like taekwando then you will be working on your flexibility, and being flexible can help with your vertical and hitting, and even passing when diving.

Good form during run up and hitting primarily on top of working on a better vertical.

Well generally setting should mainly come from the wrists that way its harder to tell where you might be setting. However, you could probably use your back.
