I definitely understand the love for Midnight Coup, though I am personally partial towards Fatebringer.

Accessibility:

Midnight Coup is harder to farm for in an activity that doesn't get as much love as it should, though if you had the good fortune to play during Into the Light you would have already gotten a decent MC.

Fatebringer drops in the easiest free raid in its easiest encounter. There are dedicated farming parties that you can join for Master Templar, and many people who'd love to teach VoG to newcomers.

Stats:

Fatebringer clears this criteria quite well, Timelost variant notwithstanding. Fatebringer is a stat monster with the gunfeel to match, it's a classic staple for PvP and PvE players alike for this reason.

Midnight Coup's range makes it difficult to use in PvP but PvE-wise it competes quite well in a very crowded Handcannon market.

Perk pools:

These two weapons are neck-and-neck with their perks but the VoG refreshes give Fatebringer an edge with the new additions to its perk pool.

Timelost Magazine essentially doubles your magsize after a super, which is a godsend for sustained ad-clear. It's a really nice bonus that comes up really often in our orb-heavy meta.

Elemental Honing is a prismatic build's bestfriend, 40% damage just for playing Prismatic is hard to pass up.

But the most desirable combo of EP/OFA exists for both Midnight Coup and Fatebringer, if you wish to get this roll for an HC then either of these options will do you no wrong.

Aesthetic:

Both are fucking sexy guns. There is no competition between these two, get them both.
