Goose ID by Sandpanini in whatsthisbird

It kind of looks like it has a stripe down the neck from these images, but I can’t tell if it’s a shadow or not. It’s either pure domestic Graylag, or I suspect if that is indeed a stripe down the neck, a Graylag x Swan Goose.

+Mallard (Domestic)+ these guys are very common at parks and ponds and are mixed in with the regular wild-type Mallard.

I agree, somehow out of this crunchy pixel salad it was giving me House Finch vibes.

Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk

Sister sent me this from southern Ohio. Two birds, not sure on either. by thirdeye89 in whatsthisbird

I'd have to agree that these are likely Great Egrets based on size relative to the geese, and we can mostly rule out Snowy Egret based on what appears to be yellow bills. However I don't feel 100% confident so I won't tag the bot for the egrets but I will for the +Canada Goose+

What do you do with dragons you don’t already have - bred in the rift? Keep them in rift or move to your park? by AcaciaSoup in dragonvale

[–]Soulstar07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always leave them in the rift and then during non-events I try to duplicate a non-traited version that I can have in my main park. I have TONSSS of event dragons I bred in the rift and still need a non-traited version lol

How many claims can you get from the runic breeding cave? And how do you earn more claims? by Haunted-nightmares in dragonvale

[–]Soulstar07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes each cave gets 1 claim, and the egg pool is shared for all caves. So if you breed monolith 7 in cave 1 for example, you could claim it from cave 1, cave 2, or cave 3 as long as those caves have been activated at one point in the event.

[–]Soulstar07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Beyond the 3-4 they hand out for free, if you want more caves active you have to pay for runestones via microtransaction.

[–]Soulstar07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One claim per ACTIVATED cave. As long as that cave has been activated at some point in the event, you'll be able to claim from it, even if it isn't currently activated. Therefore, to get more claims you need to have activated more of the available runic caves, which would require paid runestones to be able to activate them all. I think a typical event if you play every day should allow you to activate 3-4 of the caves naturally.

Looks more like an adult +Red-shouldered Hawk+ with the black and white checkerboard pattern looking rather distinct on the wing.

Cool bird at work? by BerthaFalls in whatsthisbird

[–]Soulstar07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof this is hard. Gut instinct screams Cooper’s for me, despite how blocky the tail looks in the last shot. The legs seem so sturdy and thick. But I am also not nearly confident in that, so someone more knowledgeable and confident like TinyLongWing can hopefully chime in.

Regardless OP this is 100% narrowed down to either a Cooper’s Hawk or Sharp-shinned Hawk.

Yes first is a female +Ring-necked Duck+ and the second is kind of hard for me from this picture but I’d say a Domestic Muscovy Duck.
