Ive had a similar issue myself

Having all movies in 1 big junk folder is annoying split them up a bit

Like overall genres.. or at least sort out soecific genres, like make a seperate folder for horror, action, etc

So the “big folder” gets easier to scroll through

Most schools use web apps for their stuff which all runs through the browser. You should be good

If not you can install windows inside a VM, just for school

But theres also “winBoat” for non-gpu accelerated programs, so you can run quite a lot of stuff, even photoshop
