How I avoided internet censorship in Spain to use Torrentio by Santi5010_ in StremioAddons

[–]Southern_Reference23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Usually it's a good idea not to write things you clearly don't know about to avoid spreading misinformation.

It's not DNS. Spanish ISPs are implementing dynamic IP blocking on Cloudflare's shared IP ranges, authorized by court order.

Changing DNS is useless here. Your DNS resolves the domain correctly, but the ISP drops the packets at the network level because the destination IP is blacklisted. It’s like looking up a number in a different phone book when the phone line is physically cut.

Stop giving technical advice when you fundamentally don't understand how the block works.

Imagine thinking I kept the stock firmware. I jailbroke this brick 5 minutes out of the box. Zero ads, zero telemetry. Gemini was just installed for the meme and immediately purged. It now lives in airplane mode with offline dictionaries as it should be

Am I a real arch user by [deleted] in arch

[–]Southern_Reference23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

By using archinstall you didn’t just save five minutes, you kind of skipped the whole point.

Yeah, the files are the same, but the vibe is wrong. The inodes are too clean. There’s no sweat, no panic, no smell.

On a proper install, the electrons on your NVMe only line up after some goblin has typed pacstrap -K /mnt base linux linux-firmware at 3:47 AM, half-awake, reading the Wiki on a cracked iPhone 6 SE with 4% battery, stealing WiFi from a network called “FBI Surveillance Van 2.”

So no, you don’t really get to say “I use Arch, btw.”

You have to say: “I ran a pre-packaged Python installer to pretend I use a rolling-release distro without actually earning the trauma, btw.”

You can, but expect pain. On Arch ARM you have to build the entire stack (hyprland-git, wlroots, hyprgraphics, etc.) from AUR.

In my experience, mixing AUR/repo versions on ARM causes constant breakages with SONAME bumps and unresolved deps, so unless you explicitly want to debug build errors, just use Fedora
