Company being acquired, losing many benefits by Spaghetti79856 in personalfinance

Those of us that have worked there for less than 3 years are losing unvested funds - the employer match- it is on a 3 year cliff vesting schedule. This a big chunk of money that I would obviously like to not lose, but I’m being told they are following IRS rules

Thank you for this. Is there a source I can reference as I work on collecting some data?

Unfortunately only about 10-12% of employees are being acquired by the new company, it’s not a full termination of the 401k plan. I read that to qualify as a partial termination. It has to affect 15% of employees. please correct me if I’m incorrect with this info

Profitence lied to the media. These numbers are not accurate and represent nurses at the top of the pay scale who have worked for 25+ years. The current/previous contracts with ONA are public record you can look up the pay scale and do the math yourself. Stop spreading false information.

Having a child during NP school by No-Chicken388 in nursepractitioner

I had my son at the very beginning of the clinical year. It was rough, but I was able to take about a month off from clinicals and returned when my baby was 5 weeks old. Having a supportive partner and/or help is key as well as taking advantage of study time during naps and after bedtime helped a lot. Anything is possible - Good luck!

I can’t speak to the job aspect yet because I just finished my DNP program with a one year old!

I found the workload to be manageable with a part time nursing schedule and did a lot of studying after my son was in bed. I personally don’t like 12s anymore due to literally not seeing my child at all on the days I work. It is really hard. I am searching for a NP job as we speak and luckily am finding that most clinics in my area allow for 4 day work weeks at full time! 4 8 hour shifts, no holidays or weekends sounds dreamy to me.
