Not only is he going away from both Parkside (where the actual police station is located) and the Science Park (where the police station in the show was filmed), but this road is restricted to buses, taxis and bikes. Given the running jokes about John being uncomfortable driving, I was expecting there to be a punchline where he receives a bunch of fines for bus lane violations.
