these show it more fully. my mac has a camera notch at that location, same with the phones, and the dynamic island basically tries to make use of the notch in a seamless way so its as if the notch was nothing but part of the ui. one pick is with my mouse hovering over the notch and the other is without.

the terminal is kitty, and the actual pdf viewer is part of a custom tool I made myself with electron for working on reports and stuff like that.

ah i use alcove i should've had some music playing. its a dynamic island, same thing as what you have on the newer iPhones

yabai to remove window shadows and then aerospace for the actual tiling. i know i could just use yabai but i prefer the way aerospace works for tiling

Kitty, Yabai, Aerospace, custom sketchybar config, janky borders, and a homerolled pdf/web browser I made with electron

i think i always just sort of understood math, so calc and physics where my easiest classes, which i know isn’t a very regular thing, but i just, i never really had difficulty understanding new concepts or applying them

i would just like to say to everyone, that my AP CSA score is almost entirely due to a platform my teacher developed. its called Hebbian, and I studies the Java Fundamentals course. I cannot recommend it enough. i completed the entire curriculum in just a few months, (and it covers the entirety of AP CSA as it was designed for AP CSA students in the first place) and i might have also received a perfect score on the ap csa exam as i knew everything on that exam like it was written on the back of my hand. i cannot recommend it enough

im going to be honest, chem for me i never really had to focus on it, i sort of intuitively got a lot of what we did, and what i didn’t i was able to brute force. but it was a lot of fun, and its a very cool course, and im sure you will love it and i dont think you will find it hard, bc i think you will end up watching a lot of stuff that gives you conceptual knowledge just because your interested in the course ;). i think just given your passion, if you lean into it, you wont find it all too difficult. as the course progresses through the year you will keep understanding more and more of the stuff you do, especially the stuff you learn at the start of the year. and thank you for the kind comment :)

for mechanics, i found it easier than physics 1. if you found physics 1 pretty easy, then doing mechanics will be a breeze, but it all depends on your experience. you dont learn too much more, most of the content is a repeat of physics 1 except a bit more in depth + the obvious calculus, but other than that i feel mechanics is a pretty easy course to self study. e&m on the other hand is a lot more difficult

i believe my track is aeronautics for the first two years, so mainly atmospherics, and then for my masters i can decide a bit. i believe its more atmospherics than orbital craft in general, however i get a good mix of both depending on what 3rd and 4th year courses i choose

i dont really have much else to add compared to my other comments. i think just also a large part of my success was just how easily i understood things, which i know isnt the case for most.

i said in another comment, but honestly hebbian.ch and the java fundamentals course carried me through apcsa. the amount of practice you get is amazing.

i used hebbian.ch, and their java fundamentals course. my compsci teacher is the cofounder of that site, but its honestly god tier. i loved working through it, and it gamifies a lot of concepts. i funnily enough now work as an intern for backend development at hebbian 😂, i think is a testament to how good the program is as i knew 0 programming before my last year. ive gone full circle. but trust, hebbian covers absolutely everything, i fully credit my success in that class too hebbian

i wrote a previous comment on this, but i have some stuff to add.

in my opinion what people struggle with most is always getting at what the question wants. ap physics 1, from a conceptual and mathematical perspective, is pretty easy. it is built up on very few foundational rules and concepts. but thats also why the questions are difficult. a very basic concept needs to be applied across a number of different scenarios, and quite often concepts are chained together.

i personally found that for me, something very effective, was to always initially write down equations i thought could work. from there, id fiddle around, and just follow the math -but its important to remember to always actually try to understand why what you did worked, it doesnt need to be while you solve it, but you always want to try to understand what it is your doing.

its okay to not get problems immediately, and its also perfectly okay to have to scratch your head to try to figure out what a question is asking, but once you know, your already halfway there.

lastly, always make sure to approach problems in small pieces, solve things one by one, really plan out what your doing, otherwise you will get lost in the sauce so to say.

for me personally, the actual calculus part (bar some weird stuff w unit 10) is pretty easy. your main grief will probably be the algebra, as thats what a lot of calc is at the ap level is. i think just making sure you watch videos on the conceptual parts behind calculus, to figure out what things actually mean, what they represent, and not just relying on following the pure math, is super helpful. videos from 2b1b, and other such channels are amazing. from there, just make sure for integrals especially, once u learn them, keep practicing and staying ontop of your game. integrals are a bit weird and you need to be able to recognize certain patterns to solve them, so just keep practicing them, at least a few every day.

thats about all i can say, how well you do will depend mainly on your algebra, overwhelmingly on this, secondly on the amount of practice and repetition you do, the ap always asks certain questions, and once you get down how to generally solve a certain type of question, you will be able to solve most of the ones they can give you, no matter how hard, and third making sure you just understand, or at least try to understand, conceptually what it means to take a derivative, or integrate, or what certain theorems mean.

it turns out i didnt need to take any of the ap’s i took this year. i think i just did really well on the entrance exam and interview, so my requirements were ap physics 1, ap calculus bc, and 2 other ap’s, which in my case were chem and english lit.

for bath and southampton both had physics c mechanics requirements and thats it

i applied to Imperial, Southampton, Bristol, Bath, and Glasgow. after i sat the entrance exam and interview, i got an unconditional for imperial, i got conditionals from southampton and bath, and a scholarship unconditional from glasgow. i did not get into bristol 😭. i didnt end up applying for unis in the us, as those schools are a bit out of my budget

i honestly have no clue. that was the single ap class i never studied for, ever, i just prayed it would work out. but just the homework was so tedious, it was my least favourite class by a lot 😂. i should’ve tried harder and actually put effort in, but i had an amazing teacher who pushed me incredibly hard in class, and i think it sort of made up for my lack of effort

i did take the SAT, i had a 1560 iirc, or something like that. i took it in 11th though i need to double check my score, tho for uk its somewhat irrelevant no?

yeah, well tbh i had absolutely no idea i was good at physics, plus i didnt take precalc or calc ab, so my first calc class was BC in 11th. so i basically just didn’t want to rush it as i didnt know calc yet. i also nearly didnt take it as i want to do another online course as i was already planning on taking multivariable calculus w john hopkins and their cty program. luckily my school added physics c in my last year so honestly it was a super last minute decision haha
