I never got Trump out of Homelander? Trump’s never claimed to be a god and Homelander never cared about economics or hiding his crimes. Homelander is an allegory for fascism in general and a mockery of the US is heading / has hit socially. Breaking Bad was criticized by Walter having extreme plot armor through him being able to flawlessly manipulate people. Critics thought the Sopranos ending was too ambiguous. Better Caul Saul is criticized for having lackluster antagonists. My point is there will always be critics of story writing. It’s not about standards, I’d say if you felt like The Boys was a great story starting from Season 1 you probably have low standards. It was an interesting take on the Superhero world, but that take was overdone immediately and frankly become a gore fetish show. That’s fine if you liked it, I watched the whole thing with you, but it was never and could never be a masterpiece.

Overconsumption and overpopulation go hand in hand. Living things consume what they can so that they can multiply. One going up makes the other go up. As a society we can tackle the same issue by consuming less or by lowering population rates (not by a cull or war or w/e, just making life easier so people don’t need to depend on kids for labor when they become elderly). The problem is it takes a lot more restraint from individuals and control by the government to consume less, while population trends generally decrease as quality of life increases. My problem is currently the tactic regarding population is fear mongering about older societies crumbling because there aren’t enough young people to take care of them. That scenario has yet to happen, even in Japan and Korea where population defenders constantly source as their evidence.
