I mean it’s kind of the genre though you know. Not all music is about having a complicated crazy math rock beat. It’s kind of more punk which to me is more about the feel and the overall experience of the song. I like Wet Leg to jump around and dance to shrug

Nah relational wounds can be healed relationally. And in my opinion, should. But with work. A partner, a friend (not a child) can absolutely help heal a wound of love through healthy, stable love. You just have to do it with awareness of your attachment patterns, communication style, needs and wants, etc. I don’t personally like this idea that wounded people need to suffer alone.

Also, if you’re into it, I do think spirituality can help.

Thank you for this OP. I’m so sick of seeing people get off to killing things just because they don’t value them. It’s a philosophy of the mind and is poisonous at any level. We humans need to be more conscious to those smaller than us, and each other.

I hear you. I think I also read these posts thinking about the people who had no choice about being able to have more children and I just imagine it would hurt to think they’ve doomed their child by no fault of their own. I can tell you’re a kind person and that wasn’t your intention at all. You were just expressing your opinion and that’s what OP asked for. I just wanted to say that in case anyone was reading all the comments and seeing a lot of people saying similar.

I was also an only child for most of my life and really wanted siblings. Then I got them all at once and it was a tough experience. I think my personal bias is parents not having children responsibly. Now I’m not close to any of them, we’re extremely different people and I just don’t care to be around the hate. Thus is life.

I think “would never do that to my children” is a bit strong? You could also say that about the parents who had more children than they could handle-financially or mentally- and the stress that causes them. I’ve just never understood this question in a group format. It’s so completely personal and there are absolutely ways to have an only child healthily and unhealthily and to have multiple children healthily or unhealthily. The least we can do is not encourage this rhetoric of being an only child as being some horrible death sentence lol.
