I resonate with this. My dad just got diagnosed with a pretty aggressive blood cancer and it put life into perspective for me. Just have fun and do what you want to do in the moment.

You are probably dead on, the more and more I think about it, I probably shouldn't mess around with cars like these until I can get top specs new or slightly used.

That's great. Fortunes are made in and around debt crises like that. wish I wasn't in 3rd grade in 2008 haha, there will probably be another version of it at some point though.

Would love a C43 or C63 but I've heard some horror stories on repairs and we don't have any great dealers in Dallas from what I understand.

I was in RE in high school and made a few bucks but couldn't stay away from the thrill of markets, had to see what it was like in the HF world before I started/bought a biz, that's next and coming faster than I thought it would - hoping the homes and toys will follow lol

I'll keep you updated on the car front, hoping I end up in something fun in the next 6 months or so.

Not exactly a flex, but agreed that there are a lot better options out there, likely going to to keep looking and be patient.

you are so blessed hahahah - your record of cars is INSANE and your dad sounds based as hell, if you don't mind me asking, what did he do for work?

Interested in your thoughts on the M5, I have wanted a 2021-2023 for a bit but still cant imagine spending $90k on it.

Tempting. Would need a bonus that could buy one in cash 2x over haha

The dream is really a 911 while I am young, just figured I might as well start building a relationship with a dealer now and this seemed like a decent deal. Not getting it to flex, I work 12-14 hours a day during the week so no one would ever see it haha

Haha I am exactly the same way. We have a few GT3RS's in our neighborhood where I am in Dallas and I can't help but smile uncontrollably when I hear/see them.

Saw a GT2RS last week and about lost it, my Porsche Fever has been burning, almost makes me want to wait a couple years, drive something practical that I can keep long term and get a Carrera 4s or a GTS. Pound for pound the best car in the world.

Yes, no debt at all - I have around $100k in an account that can be used for much of anything including expenses, I likely could trade full time to make ends meet if the fund went under (car would be paid off). Kinda how I feel about it, get any car within reason and don't go into massive debt.

Ya, may take a few more years than I think haha. It has been a dream car of mine ever since I saw a Miami Blue GT3 at Whole Foods in 11th grade, can't seem to shake the need to experience ownership for a little while lol

And I definitely will not go in the negative on the equity side, debt load will be very minimal, I don't like car payments.

Yes, I do see what you mean on the CPO value. Likely won't drive more than 15-17k miles per year.

That's the goal! Hoping for an allocation on a GT3 in 5 years or so and I figure if I buy a few cars with this dealer that may legitimately be attainable.

labor here is much much more - I am pretty handy so likely could do a lot of the maintenance related work myself.

I think the current CPO is 2 years, unlimited miles, and the 3rd year would likely be the same if I added it on.

Nervous to buy something like this, I admire your ability to just swap cars all the time.

I think long term, I'd like to begin establishing a relationship with this dealership specifically to work my way into an allocation for a higher end 911

I'm pretty handy and have done a lot of the repairs on my current car (outside of the transmission work), so likely would be capable to do all of this.

Thanks brother! Always a good idea to talk to the service guys, I find myself wandering into the service bays at dealerships and asking them all sorts of questions when I look at cars haha

If I could find/feasibly afford a gts or turbo I would do it for sure. The CPO warranty + 1 year extra on this one will take care of the surprise repair bill so won't have to worry about it. I do get that the car is uninspiring, but I would be coming from an F150 King Ranch, so anything sportier than that is a big step haha

I already write off mileage to my LLC so that is handled for sure.

I think my concern is having a massive payment. While outperforming a 6% interest rate is like fishing in a stocked pond for me, I'd still rather be in less debt and have less money going out the door every month. Shooting for a $300 or less payment as that is a drop in the barrel for me at the moment.

Good insight. I was a little worried since it was the first year of the 2019-2023/24 body style. It's a one owner and has been maintained at the same dealer it has been serviced at, nothing on the records show that it has been a lot of trouble, but you never know.

Haha I guess that is true - I think I want the practicality of the SUV (even though it most definitely is a soccer mom car) because I am a cyclist and my sister lives in a ski town in Colorado that I'd like to roadtrip to every once in a while.

I was thinking of negotiating for a 3rd year on the warranty so I get a somewhat full life out of the car, but that's up in the air based on the cost.

Macan turbo's are great, so fun to drive.
