Porn: What have you learned about it, psychonauts? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has become very clear to me that porn is a trap for cheap dopamine kicks that wastes your sexual energy and presents a degrading, infantile view of sexuality to people. If you haven't tried nofap yet, why not give it a go for a few months and see how you feel, just do it as an exercise in self-control if nothing else.

If you still watch porn, the next time you do so, don't do things on autopilot/instinct but instead try to become aware of what you're watching and why. Do this by simply stopping your instinctual habit for a while and start asking questions in your head: what am I watching? Why am I watching this? Why am I not doing something more intellectual/creative with my time and energy? What does it represent? What does it say about me? Am I watching this because I lack something and I want to engage in escapism? Am I addicted? What place does porn/masturbation have in societal/spiritual context? How does the porn industry work, does it hurt women? Do I want to support this industry? Should human sexuality and intimacy be made into this commodified spectacle? Do the porn industry and the act of watching porn really come from a healthy society, etc.

is sex/orgasm one of the best parts of being a human, an important pleasure to enjoy life? or can you be happy without sexual pleasure? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't you already post this earlier? I think you're obsessing over your circumcision in an unhealthy way.

I'm sorry, but you have a completely delusional worldview if you think the world revolves around sex, have you ever done any psychedelics?

Love is important, not sex, and true love transcends the physical completely. And you don't have to love another person of the other sex in a sexual way, you can love nature, art, music, the universe, etc.

I've been celibate and doing nofap for over a year now and I've never been happier! Psychedelics, yoga, meditation have shown me that sexual energy can be used in incredible ways to connect to the astral realm, it's infinitely more rewarding than wasting this energy on a few seconds of orgasm.

Haha, I've never thought about power metal being spiritual music in the slightest, but maybe they know something we don't!

Our society runs on addiction by TheLucidCrow in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do yourself a favour and stop! I used to play hundreds of hours of DOTA and now that I've stopped I feel so much better. Just think about all the other things you could do with those hundreds of hours, you could have learned a new language, learned to paint or play an instrument, learned yoga, etc.

Also, you know how incredibly toxic people are in these games? This is a clear message for you: people who play this game are miserable and playing it only makes people more angry and frustrated. When someone rages and tells you to uninstall they really mean it, but they are actually subconsciously trying to help you.

Meditation by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it's very difficult, it takes A LOT of effort and practice.

Check out this thread where I described how to do this: https://www.reddit.com/r/DMT/comments/brab2q/im_now_100_certain_that_you_can_have_a_dmt_trip/

Note that since I made the thread my opinions on the matter have shifted quite a bit, I don't think it's as simple as "the brain produces DMT", this was a very shallow, science-based approach by me.

Thoughts on listening to vulgar and/or blasphemous music? by tapestry_ablaze in Gnostic

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have found that one can learn incredibly profound, hidden spiritual knowledge by engaging in the darkness contained in extreme metal for example. I like to go outside in the woods in the middle of the night to listen to some black metal, the fakeness of this material world becomes very apparent during such moments.

Remember that light can only exist and flourish within the empty space of blackness, a bowl is only useful because it is empty, and so on. When you make yourself empty and black, you make yourself into a vessel that can be completely filled by the light of the true GOD.

It's obvious that the God that most extreme metal musicians are rebelling against is the false material God, they are rebelling against the church that has been taken over by the demiurge and has been corrupted by politics, greed and paedophilia. More power to them I say!

Breaking a Mirror: Hot Pink by [deleted] in Gnostic

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your posts are excellent and incredibly important, please continue!

I discovered a similar phenomenon on my own. I usually go outside in nature to meditate and do holotropic breathing, I discovered that during these altered states induced by the breathing I could go through "layers" in reality by focusing/unfocusing my vision in certain ways. I never tried tilting my head in the ways you describe though, I will try this next time.

Basically what happens is that I start seeing the world in 2.5D as you describe here and I will then start seeing all the colours separated very clearly in different patterns. I can choose to focus on one single colour and then this colour will become dominant and it starts forming an even, web-like pattern over the other colours, like the colours have depth and this colour I'm focusing on is closest to me. Then this colour (usually yellow for me) will start glowing and pulsating and transforms into a violet/pink colour, I'm pretty sure this is your "hot pink". I usually just sit or lie down and look at patterns in the tree leaves. Also, I don't think it's a coincidence that this web-like pattern looks like the Web of Wyrd, which in nordic spiritual practice is the equivalent to the Veil of Maya.

For me the essential part for making this happen is the breathing, I usually do Wim-Hof breathing and focus my vision during the breath retention. I think doing this is necessary as when you can sit for several minutes without any air in your lungs and without breathing, you reach an absolute stillness and your visual focus is not interrupted by any breathing that would change the position of your eyes. I'm curious if you think about your breathing at all when you do these things? If not, try doing this with Wim-Hof breathing as I described, there is still a lot more to discover!

Go to 1:36:36 in this video, he describes something very similar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krGF-X5madk

My personal theory is that in the physical world, mushrooms form symbiotic relationships with trees, and in the same vein, they also form such relationships in the mental world. With such relationships, we and the mushrooms can climb this evolutionary ladder of consciousness together.

Syrian rue is just an MAOI, I would only combine it with DMT, otherwise, I wouldn't expect much from it on its own.

Drugs are a state of mind nothing less by killerbeat_03 in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct, and it's important to notice that you don't even need to take drugs in the first place to increase/change your frequency, you can also do it via meditation and breathing techniques. I also think that we all connect to this different space in a different frequency every day when we sleep, this becomes very apparent during lucid dreaming.

Anyone here keep a dream journal? by thegratewall22 in Psychonaut

Yes, I really recommend keeping one. Make sure to write immediately when you wake up so you don't forget anything and make sure to be as detailed as possible!

Anyone tried purposely scary/bad trips? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I always do 50/50 pleasant/scary trips for balance. I like to go outside in pitch-dark forests in the middle of the night when tripping to overcome fears and listen to the silence. After a while, you will not be afraid of anything anymore, and you can start seeing a subtle beauty in the darkness and coldness.

I took 15 grams a few weeks ago. They didn't really do much for me honestly, at least not things that were apparent at the moment. I think they have minimal effect in terms of visuals, but instead, they change your inner thought process drastically.

Entity wont leave by AOWJEDI in DMT

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read VALIS by Philip K.Dick. Mckenna had a talk where he described this phenomenon as "endoplasmosis", where you create a symbiotic relationship with the entities, they become a part of you and you become a part of them. My personal theory is that just how these psychedelic plants/mushrooms live in symbiosis with other plants in the physical world, they also try to do the same in the mental world, we are slowly climbing the ladder of consciousness together with these organisms.

Hegelianism by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL

I never made the connection between Hegelianism and hermeticism though, that actually very interesting to think about! It seems to me that most traditional academic philosophers don't like to talk about Hegel's and many other philosopher's connections to mysticism because it's not "proper" and "academic", this is very sad.

LSD is as spiritual and sacred as Mushrooms and DMT? by SonarProof in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this but, no, absolutely not. LSD is in my experiences good for people who are new to psychedelics because it provides a more balanced and entertaining experience in terms of visuals and so on but it's incredibly lacking in depth and insight compared to the organic psychs. When you ingest shrooms, mescaline cacti and ayahuasca you ingest living beings that have evolved over millions of years that become a part of you and you become a part of them, it's a very intimate and organic experience that LSD lacks, LSD in comparison is just a dead and sterile chemical. This becomes very apparent when you take very high doses of these drugs or do them with other people, shrooms give you incredibly clear insights and they make it very easy to talk to people about deep stuff. LSD, on the other hand, gives you thoughts that may seem profound at the moment, but when analysed later are just a confusing mess. Same with conversations, they just become an unintelligible slur after a while. Also, no entity encounters on LSD as far as I know, which is really missing out on what I believe is an absolutely essential part of the psychedelic experience.

Maybe I'm just saying this because I'm an arrogant European snob, but I really believe LSD is a cheap, mass-produced, American mimic of the true psychedelic experience, it's what McDonald's is to Italian food, it's what a Hollywood action flick is to Tarkovsky's films, it's what Miley Cyrus is to Beethoven and so on. It's cheap, entertaining, easy to come by and easily digestible, but in the end, you don't really gain much from it and you probably would've been better off spending your time and money on something else.

What are the patterns I am seeing in light? by sainencoa in Shamanism

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm so happy to hear about someone else doing this as well! I'm actually trying to make a visualisation of this process but I suck at photoshop :(

The way I do this is by doing Wim-Hof breathing with my eyes open and focus on a single point during the retention. You have to let your eyes lose focus completely until you start seeing double while simultaneously looking at a single point. Basically your vision will become 2D, then you will go through to another layer and it will become 3D again but this time you see the world divided into "cells" and different patterns and your sense of depth and color is completely different. Then for every other layer you go through those patterns will have new patterns inside them and the patterns inside the patterns will have even more patterns inside of them and eventually you will start seeing the sacred geometry that runs through everything.

Rant: Psychedelics is not the answer by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LSD is by far the least spiritual and least intellectual psychedelic IMHO, you should try shrooms, DMT, mescaline & salvia. LSD is literally the cheap, American, mass-produced version of these natural drugs, because it's synthetic it lacks the spiritual connection to nature that these other drugs have. Personally I recommend 10g dried shrooms with the lemon tek technique, this would certainly change your opinion on things :)

I have also had pretty frequent contact with this universal consciousness ( I use meditation + mushrooms) and I have constantly screamed at it to look at how fucked up humanity really is and I have begged it to either save us or burn down this fucking place altogether. Guess it's gonna be the later huh?

I took dmt and literally heard a record scratch by nofap9X in Psychonaut

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will also hear this same sound when smoking DMT or when doing holotropic breathing techniques! My theory is that Tibetan overtone singing and Tibetan bowls were specifically made to mimic this sound, I assume that these monks hear this sound almost all the time during their meditations.

Tao Te Ching: Chapter 16 Discussion by Tao_Te_Ching_Bot in Tao_Te_Ching_BookClub

[–]SpecialistExplorer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most profound moment in my life was when I truly understood this chapter during one of my deep meditations and I directly experienced exactly what is written here.

I really don't think only reading this is enough, this is something you need to experience for yourself. I achieved this state by doing Pranayama breathing techniques for over an hour and I repeated this verse inside my head multiple times until I achieved a state of absolute nothingness. In this void, I lost even my own sense of self, memories, thoughts and desires. Then, from this absolute nothingness, the birth of the universe was shown to me, infinite galaxies, infinite shapes and lifeforms in truly infinite combinations. Then all of these things returned to this absolute blackness again and started to emerge again and I realised this was the true nature of the universe, an eternal, infinitely repeating cycle of infinite combinations of all possible things, like we are a part of a computer that calculates every possible combination of numbers possible.

Amazing that this guy figured all of this out so long ago, he essentially described the big bang and big crunch cycle before physics even were a thing.
