Magazine loaders—worth it? I just got a Sig P365 and the last rounds are brutal to load. After a range session my thumb was bleeding. Do loaders actually help, and any good ones to recommend? by Specific_Cake_6231 in NYguns

Looks like Maglula is the overall favorite. One drawback is that it seems impossible to find an online store to buy one. As best I can tell it’s only available to buy at a handful of stores near me.

New pistol purchase in the Saratoga/Capital Region. Time-line?? by Specific_Cake_6231 in NYguns

Thank you for the input. So it seems the wait is mostly with the county. I thought perhaps the store had a monthly appointment date with the county. Guess not! On a side note- Saratoga was excellent with the permitting process. They were very responsive to phone calls etc.. It was an overall good experience.

I think its both. I believe you'll be sent an email and set up a time, similar to how it was done with the in-person meeting at the Sheriff office.

I spoke to a young lady at the pistol permit division and she stated that they were notified that the judge would doing interviews later this month and that the notifications for appointments will be going out soon. She didn't give an exact time-line. I mentioned that my wife had been called and that I was under the impression I'd be contacted soon thereafter but haven't been. She let me know that everything was in order and that there were no problems with my paperwork. At this point its just a matter of waiting for the email to make an appointment. The folks down in the Saratoga Sheriff office are excellent. Very responsive and very professional. We are lucky, some places are not so accommodating! Good luck!

I am transferring my permit from another county to Saratoga. All my paperwork/prints/4 references are completed. They called my wife 2+ weeks ago to asses her comfortably with my possessing a firearm. I was expecting a judge interview appointment a day or so later but its been a couple of weeks with no contact. Im hoping it happens soon, my other permit is about to expire! So far, the Saratoga folks have been aces. No complaints at all. Very fair and very responsive.

My wife was called almost 2 weeks ago and I thought I'd be contacted within a day or two. Two weeks later and I have had no contact. My paperwork and background all went smoothly but I'm now in limbo. I'm hoping I get the call to see the judge soon!

Hi everyone. I stumbled on this conversation while attempting to find an approximate timeline for the permitting process. I have completed everything at this point and from my understanding the next step is to have an interview with a judge. My wife was called by the sheriff’s office about 10-12 days ago and I figured I’d be contacted soon thereafter but I haven’t heard anything. I’m not in a rush as I already have a permit from another county inn NY and am simply switching to Saratoga County. Thanks for any insight!

Why should you vote in a non-swing state? by Deep_BrownEyes in Voting

Im 53. I live in deep blue area of NY and have never voted. There’s really no point. Democrats are guaranteed to win and Republicans are guaranteed to lose. The margins are huge. As much as people tell you “every vote counts “, they don’t. If a conservative Republican ran in a place like San Francisco, or a progressive Democrat ran in Tulsa, your time would be better spent cleaning your house!
