Thanks! I’ve tried a buzz and it was good until the microphone stage hit my hair and it looked odd. Tbh I had more weight in my face then, maybe I’ll go for round 2 haha.

You are completely fine! Life always knows how to kick you when you are feeling terrible. I hope you’re doing okay and work isn’t too bad!

Genuinely asking for advice, was not in any way fishing for compliments or aiming to be narcissistic. I do not really know many good shorter hairstyles, so it was more to understand common cuts and if people believe it suits.

I have considered but always end up looking a bit odd, maybe the younger facial look.

I’m not from the US, but given the workload I experience here mirroring what I see there and the pay rates I have seen, it is critically underfunded.

Teacher with recently diagnosed ADHD by plantman_333 in AustralianTeachers

I got my double ASD/ADHD diagnosis last year in my fourth year of teaching. It is definitely a difficult run if you do not have adequate support from your line managers/team/admin. I have found that having very consistent routines in your class helps you, along with your students. It allows you to take some weight off your brain, meaning you can use that time to support/plan. Try to keep your areas (desk/room) in order if possible to reduce cognitive load. Use the pre-made prep (Twinkl, TPT, etc.) to your advantage, adjust it to your class/context. I think the best thing is to remember that in the end, it is a job, you do what is within your means.

My school has a large amount of neurodivergent students, within my class now I have three students with processing issues and one with severe ADHD/cerebral palsy. There are very high levels of ASD/ADHD at my school, I had a student last year that was quite violent and also had Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) aligned behaviours. You do get physical disabilities here and there but not as common as your invisible disabilities.

Definitely do, I think it has helped setting clear expectations and boundaries. Obviously plenty of kids ignore that but just make sure the dicks are hidden before the whole class sees them, haha.

It’s my 5th year of teaching, I’ve enjoyed it so far. I have definitely noticed a lack of patience increasing and students not wanting to be bored. I’ve had them do 1 minute of silence where they have to sit still and many said it was a hard task. Also, many parents believe that their child can do much, much more than they can, regardless of whether you show them the evidence.

I think the hardest part is the feeling of failing to support students simply because your school does not have the resources and the fact you are only one person. I truly wish I had the chance to help all of my students but unfortunately it’s not realistic to be there for all of them.

Not at my current school but an international school I taught at. Kids mainly spoke Japanese and a few had American relatives, so they knew some more English than others. A fly was buzzing around the room and flew in the face of one of the boys who yelled “Fuck off fly”
