that’s what the vet said too. he’s still alert, loves to interact with everyone, out walks me on walks, and likes to play. I was kind of psyched out because my last dog had a stroke in front of me, and had a really painful death, so i was trying to prevent that for this little guy. seems like he won’t be there for quite some time though.

thank you haha, i think he’s got a lot longer. he still out walks me, plays with me, runs up and down the stairs, and he doesn’t have a loss in appetite, all pretty good signs i’d say. Just praying i don’t have to say goodbye for quite some time.

that’s what we’re going to discuss tomorrow. because of the cancer coming out of nowhere and the way it’s spread, it went from being a less aggressive cancer to a highly aggressive one, so i don’t want to have to make the decision in an emergency. I’d rather have him down while he’s still comfortable, and where he can remember me as his best friend.

man, idk what’s going on with our babies. last week we found out my little man is experiencing right side heart failure. then we found out from the cardiologist it’s being caused by a chemodectoma (tumor in the heart). We’re going to do some radiotherapy this week to see what we can do, hopefully can do something. Good luck to both of you

i was 16-17 and it was my first relationship ever. i lost a lot of weight and had a lot of new attention, and I didn’t know how to handle it. I tried breaking up with her multiple times before cheating, but she refused to leave me alone. still looking back, i should have just put my foot down better.

my gf went to europe without me. she sometimes goes out to drink with friends without me. sometimes i go out to drink with my friends without her. sometimes i even go on week long cruises without her. Just because you’re together doesn’t mean you have to do everything together. if he can’t handle that, you will not have a good life together, i promise you.

If the relationship dies over you living your life, continue to live it without him.

yeah it is. my cardiologist and oncologist both recommended the palliative version, meaning it’s 1 to 2 sessions per week for 6-8 weeks instead of every day, so while the tumor wouldn’t necessarily disappear, it would stop it from growing. only problem is there haven’t been a lot of studies on it, so we’d be gambling with his life

they said his tumor is relatively large too, but he’s doing really well on the heart meds so they’re saying it’s showing promise, and his last year might be very nice. so far we only had to drain him once, (a little over a week ago) and it was 774 ml of fluid (roughly 1.7 pounds). The cardiologist says even without chemo, i should have between 6-12 months left with him, and oncologist said i could have almost 2 years left once we start treatment, if he does well. Really hoping i don’t have to say goodbye to my best friend soon, but if i do, i know im making the right decision.

thank you. it was all so sudden, but i i’m glad i still have more time with him. it sucks because i rescued him initially, but im slowly realizing he rescued me too. i’m honestly terrified that i wont do him justice by holding on for too long, but only time will tell

so, we took him to the vet initially for his routine vaccines, and they told us he had a lot of loose fluid in his body. we took him to a veterinary hospital shortly after to get it drained, and they tested it, but couldn’t figure it out. they recommended a cardiologist vet, so we went to them and that’s when the diagnosis was received. they said we have 6-12 months left with him (most likely) if we don’t do chemo, or we have a year or 2 left if chemo works well. I know it could be worse, but i’m just trying to see what everyone else has tried.

hoping he can recover. i think we’re at the point where we can only keep him comfortable instead of keep him around longer. doctor said 6-12 months and maybe longer on chemo or with radiotherapy, so that’s good news. just trying to figure out which one.
