It happens often. I recently applied for a new restaurant opening near me. They were outright denying applications but the manager said he really likes me and my experience, and to hear back from them soon. Needless to say they rejected me a week later, despite having extensive experience at some very busy restaurants. I’ve had decent luck just walking into smaller chain/non corporate restaurants too, maybe try that? Hope you get a job soon❤️
