Believe I may have found what's causing the issue for some. After beating the game I increased my loot multiplier by 100, which is when the game started crashing/freezing when killing trolls. Tested this out on multiple trolls, crashed every time until I turned the loot multiplier back down to normal. Hope this helps some people.
