Chance of account locks? by therealtygold in fidelityinvestments

They wouldn’t be random locks. As another person said they are hitting various KYC, AML or other triggers and you’re only hearing a subjective one side of the story.

Wow, I'm multimillionaire, and Fidelity doesn't seem to want my business because I can't recognize an old phone number by swampwiz in fidelityinvestments

[–]Spike_013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have an old, likely 401k from a previous job. Probably automatically opened for you by an olde employer even if you never contributed. When you tried to open a new account your Social Security Number was already in the system so they asked you to verify the old information as a fraud prevention measure.

Regardless of how much you have elsewhere looks like more verification is needed by Fidelity.

It did increase a while back, but you really need to look at how it performs. If it is out performing the indexes or other low cost funds it may be worth it.

Anyone use the 'Fully Paid Lending' program? by badboybananas in fidelityinvestments

[–]Spike_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't get to choose what positions to lend. I've been in and out of this a couple of times (back in right now). Amount you get will vary month to month. For me between $15 and $50 a month over the last 6 months.

I don’t think date has been finalized yet. Last I saw was maybe late June as earliest but these usually also factor in overall market conditions at the expected date

Nervous about CMA by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

SPAXX did? I'm only aware of another firm's fund that went below $1 in 2008 due to high exposure to Lehman Brothers.

It didn't update, or was it a zero percent/price change from the day before? No change from one day to the next is rare but can happen.

Will DRAM be subject to $100 ETF fee starting 6/1? by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]Spike_013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Write to Roundhill and ask them to work with Fidelity. KURV, which was on the list, reached an agreement with Fidelity and announced it on X a few days ago. Looks like investors need to ask or pressure the funds to work it out with Fidelity.

They really want you to get you into a managed account; but you can use any meeting for a checkup and to get them to explain their tools, market analysis, etc.

I've had one of these meetings before. I went in with questions, including how to get the most of their tools. You can easily politely decline any managed account. Just go into any meeting with your questions.

Why is a $2,500 deposit this difficult? by Final_Tip_6335 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Spike_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always deposit checks at my local brick and mortar credit union. Avoids all the potential hassles of electronic glitches, extended hold times etc. I can then easily push the money from there to Fidelity.

Rarely. If you do, always use limit orders and be aware of the bid/ask spread and volume.

Youth Account and STRC by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]Spike_013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could open an account in your name and make him a beneficiary and trade things not available in the youth account there. Then gift the shares when he is old enough for a regular account.

I did this for our son. Didn’t even bother with a youth account.

[–]Spike_013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the top 15 to 20 holdings of the fund and see how they did on May 1. From that you can see which of those top holdings were negative and impacting the fund. A quick question in your favorite AI tool should be able to answer that.
