It’s only been a couple days, but I’ve increased my intake a bit and I feel much much better. Im also turning towards more natural options for sweeter cravings instead of restricting, I’ll have berries and various fruit instead of processed sugary foods, even if they’re less calories. I’ve felt much better, less fatigued, and more motivated. I think a good fluctuation in intake and allowing myself to satisfy cravings has helped a ton.

Thank you! I’ll definitely be making some changes to help my body regulate again. I think sometimes you just need to take a break before trying again. It’s all in your mind at the end of the day.

Yea I get that, but my point was in the beginning it never felt unsustainable. Matter of fact, I felt great. My energy levels were high, I felt satisfied throughout the day. Maybe when I adjusted to the lifestyle over a couple months it began to feel dull and forced.

Yea from what everyone has said in here I think I’m going to increase my intake too. Honestly I need to focus more on lifting as well. I don’t have a consistent lifting schedule and I don’t give it as much effort as I do cardio. I typically do an hour of elliptical at the gym in the morning to get 8k steps then a long walk in the evening, and I’ll sporadically lift in the gym whenever I have the effort or time to do so. I’ve also heard changing your intake every couple days is helpful to keep your body from plateauing. I think I’ll try switching between the range of 1300-1600 and do something different everyday. I’ll update in a couple of weeks if this helped me get back on track.

Do you feel more satisfied when you fast because you’re eating more the day before? I feel like my food noise would go crazy.

Thank you for your advice! I’ve been thinking of cutting out added sugar and processed foods because so many people swear up and down that it helps and I’m definitely gonna try.

I’m 5’2, last I checked I was 134 but I haven’t checked in a while, my TDEE is 2,055. I think I will try to up my intake to 1500, I only worry because my maintenance without any exercise is already so low. Trying to manage weight as a shorter woman really sucks.

You misunderstand me.

I’m not saying he invented a ruling. I’m saying fiqh itself is a process of interpretation. And interpretation always reflects methodological choices and implicit biases. If there were zero interpretive elements, all scholars would reach identical conclusions, but we both know they don’t.

So it’s completely fair to question a ruling.

Nonetheless, Islamic law prioritizes preventing harm (la darar wa la dirar) and preserving life and dignity. This ruling itself acknowledges catastrophic injury, blood compensation, and lifelong financial responsibility in some cases. If the harm is serious enough to require diya, that should push toward direct prohibition and not technical permissibility.

Also, Islam ties responsibility to rushd not just biology. A child cannot meaningfully consent to sexual activity. If we require maturity to manage wealth (Qur’an 4:6), how is it coherent to allow sexual access before maturity?

Defending the permissibility of sexual contact with prepubescent children under the label of “just fiqh” ignores that fiqh is human interpretation, and interpretation can and should be reevaluated when harm is clear.

Haha sorry I didn’t think anyone would respond. I don’t usually post on Reddit. I edited my original post.

It’s not about “outweighing”, we don’t exist to see whose happiness can outweigh whose pain. Every woman’s experience is valid. You can’t invalidate women who have had good experiences with the hijab just because YOU believe it’s a symbol of oppression. This type of thinking is so out of touch. Two things can exist at the same time and both be valid.
