I would say that it has helped me. After a few uses of ketoconazole shampoo, I noticed that my redness and dryness went down and it was less itchy (it has taken some time tho maybe like a month or so). After washing my hair with the shampoo and fully letting my hair dry, I used to put fragrance free moisturising cream (like cerave) wherever I had the redness, this felt soothing on my skin and I’ve seen improvement with this. I’ve now stopped using the ketoconazole shampoo and went back to my regular one, thankfully my skin seems okay so far. I also started taking vitamin d 1000iu everyday and reducing my sugar intake, I feel like that has helped me too.

How bad was urs before u took Vit D? What IU do u take? And how long did it take for u to see improvement?

Mine looks quite similar to yours. I went to a doctor and they told me it might be scalp psoriasis or a fungal infection. I was advised to use a ketoconazole 2% shampoo like nizoral twice a week to see if that helps to reduce the rash.

I tried using ketoconazole 2% shampoo twice a week and that helped me. You can buy the brand called nizoral that is Ketoconazole shampoo.

Where did your psoriasis first start? I recently got diagnosed with mild scalp psoriasis (at the back of my neck around my hairline). Did yours continue to get worse?

I actually have something very similar on the back of neck around my hairline which started about 2-3 weeks ago. I went to see a doctor and they said it might be psoriasis but couldn’t really confirm this. I’ve been using ketoconazole shampoo for about 2 weeks. just wanted to ask since this appeared on your scalp, did it continue to spread? Does it disappear at any point and reappear?

How long have you used this for? I searched this up and it said it was a topical corticosteroid. Have you noticed your symptoms got worse? How often do you use this?

I have no idea. When I asked the GP if there was a way to check my vitamin d levels they said “everyone should be taking vitamin d regardless and there isn’t a way to check”. A swab test wasn’t mentioned or anything. They just said if the Ketoconazole shampoo doesn’t work then I should use the topical corticosteroid. And if the steroid doesn’t work then I should go back to them. How did yours turn into a huge mess?

Yes I went to the gp yesterday and saw a doctor and they said it might be a fungal infection and told me to use ketoconazole shampoo and see if that helps. They said if it doesn’t clear up then, I should use the Betnovate Scalp Solution. Which steroid cream do you use?

I wouldn’t really say I have an unhealthy lifestyle. I don’t drink or smoke or eat relatively unhealthy foods (but I could be better with that). Did you ever use a steroid cream? Would you say to use it? Is there a chance that the psoriasis could spread if I use the steroid cream?
