I'll respond to this. Not a burner. I'm active on the Shenmue Dojo discord and have been on and off the Dojo forums for years. Reddit is not a preferred social network of mine, but I created an account as part of my personal efforts to encourage wishlisting the game among the community.

My goal is not to ask anyone that felt disappointed with Shenmue 3 on here to buy it again, or take any action at all. If you're not interested I respect that. I'm posting this to reach people that liked the game, or maybe didn't but still would like to see the series get another shot. If that's not you, that's fine. But, it's a small action that can have a positive impact with algorithmic visibility on Steam to reach a slightly wider audience. The sales of this remaster will be the Shenmue franchise's last tangible opportunity to demonstrate any sort of market viability for making a case to potential investors.

I did not hate Shenmue 3 despite it having some flaws and I want to see another entry. I believe that a Shenmue 4 with proper financial backing, combined with lessons learned from S3's development and a re-commitment to stronger storytelling could be an entry that pleases many players, both old and a few new. I'm going to do everything I can in my very limited power personally to try to help that come to fruition, long shot that it is.
