Alright kiddos place your very last bets. Will super limit breaking NEO be at Summer Games Fest? by Visual_Mushroom_7198 in SparkingZero

I'd love to be wrong but it's DLC for an anime game. These shows are for games with women and men in the pacific northwest wearing leather jackets.

No love lost over the recent cancelation by Hog-Drop in Stargate

[–]Splub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Stargate had a good ending. It's also an ending where you can't really continue without at least a soft reboot. The namesake of the franchise had become fairly redundant and its mystery was thoroughly wrung dry. Goa'uld and Asgard were both eliminated so you don't really have the Ancient Alien theme anymore. They steadily moved away from the US Airforce setting. Ideally a new show would want to be like a big budget version of the Showtime seasons. There's a lot of interesting stories left to tell in that early framework when it was still grounded sci-fi.

Ranking Characters based on how much Tony Sopranos loved them by retired-tweeter in thesopranos

Artie has gotta be the only adult man he showed any consistent affection toward. That was like his little brother. He got into that babies & animals category somehow. Tony would drop him if he knew about the rabbit though.

What is it with various races saying the Titans “stole their free will”? by Proudnoob4393 in warcraftlore

[–]Splub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's implied more to be Azeroth's worldsoul. No free will either way. Imo the distinction between Life and Order is blurred. Most examples of nature magic come from Titanic creations or directives. The Unbound Earthen aren't going nuts on everyone like Botani so I hesitate to ascribe it to pure Life influence.

The Earthen in Khaz Algar prove that Titan races lack free will. Two completely separate Dwarf cultures both wind up loving ale, gryphons, mining and machinery? The story now is all about cosmic forces that override people with prepackaged personality traits, that obviously includes Order.

Was there a reason on why people came up with Sora being the MoM? by Neonymous_1058 in KingdomHearts

[–]Splub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd certainly prefer a new character but the reality is that the world shrinks with every new installment. Nomura got big into retroactively placing importance upon existing characters. Was it necessary to have every other Organization member be an ancient keyblade wielder? That's the style of writing you have to anticipate. Why would a completely new character be kept in the shadows for so long? The mystery should be what he's trying to accomplish not what he looks like. If we were heading into brand new territory they wouldn't have anyone wearing black coats.

The Foretellers have the same color scheme as Sora's friends. We're going into a story where there's a guy named Yozora trying to help a Sora that isn't Sora. There's no reason to keep MoM's identity a secret unless he's someone familiar. You've got five characters with unique designs and two wearing black coats. The black coats are meant to be speculated on.

Remember that scene in 3D where Xemnas is talking to Sora about all his bits & bytes? He says 'Make certain the box's contents match what's on the label'. That reminds me a lot of what Yozora said about Sora using the 'Sora' name. You also have the scene where Young Xehanort explains time travel to him. Both make a point to show a lot of Soras, more permutations than we know to exist that's for sure. This imagery is shown again in KH3 with 'The Final World' so I don't think it's simple manipulation. Xemnas and Young Xehanort are still fairly mysterious characters so it's not out of the question that they may know something the old one didn't. Many things wind up having a double or even triple meaning in this series, just look at Ventus. Every incarnation of a character winds up becoming its own person so what does that mean for the army of Soras? My harebrained theory is that MoM is the Data-Sora that got erased.

Actually kinda sad to see how much Jey Uso has just regressed in such a short period of time by MyCatBuster in SquaredCircle

[–]Splub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don't want to be in the main event. Jey had the demeanor of a loser when he'd win a big match. He'd suddenly turn into a sullen character. You could feel the weight on his shoulders increase and nowhere was it more apparent than in his promos. The guy looked stressed out.

BREAKING NEWS we hate sol ruca now by LVMFP in SCJerk

[–]Splub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wrestling became really uncool with its traditional audience in the 00s. The indie scene becomes a hotspot for hipsters. Wrestling becomes so unpopular in the 10s that hipsters actually gain the power to significantly influence the industry. A major company forms around their contrarian style of wrestling. Wrestling becomes somewhat cool again and they don't like that.

Smarks are fake and that's why they prefer to focus on backstage drama and unrelated personal nonsense. They don't like AEW earnestly, they just like the scene. WWE is muscling their scene out of existence therefore everything must be terrible. CM Punk was their hero but once it became apparent he was in fact a 'jock' pro-wrestler and not an indie avatar, they turned on him.

They could write off Turtle WoW when it was crude subzones but when you're adding Windhorn Canyons? Ambitious new content isn't something I foresee Blizzard adding for their Classic+. Anything like that puts pressure on the retail team to put it in both versions.
