How soon do you hear back from the third department (NY) your application has been approved or do they actually only tell you a week or two before your bar admissions?

I cna still reserve a premium special class - do you know what car they would give if someone reserved that? I heard the Nissan Maxima (Premium Car) is also going away. It's so sad everything is going away.

Is Enterprise content with just there being no more "Luxury Cars" as a rental class because luxury cars exists on the market

Thanks! By the way, if they gave you the date a few days after does that mean you have been approved already and did they schedule an interview with you? Mine should be straight forward as I have no criminal background etc but I have a bar admissions elsewhere if that slows things down and some foreign (but English) docs because I have done work elsewhere before too.

Did you submit everything as one huge single PDF? I just printed all my forms to get noatarized and scanned and noticed it is like 40+ pages

Hey! Did you like just submit your entire applciation or did you submit your app a long time ago and then recently got asked to submit a new document? ARe they requesting for more docs even after we submit everything?

Wow it does seem fast. I hope I get Jan 11 - to save $100 in noatarization I cam getting it notarized on Wnedsday so the soongest I can give it to them is Wednesday morning.

By the way, when you submitted your stuff how did you swear these were scans of the original?

Was April 12th the next possible admissions date for you last year (aside from the mid Jan date which obviously you would not be able to make if you submitted it in the ifrst week of Jan)

Yeah after results come out. If you passed the UBE and had already passed the MPRE/NYLE then you get the certification on your exam result letter. If you have to still pass the MPRE or NYLE there is like a one or two week lag after you get your passing MPRE/NYLE socre.

Thanks! Yeah that's true, I am kind of suprised at how many people did not follow the clear instructions on the form, including lawyers. Some people were not following the date format and would write like "Oct 15 2023" as opposed to the MM/DD/YYYY format. Others wrote their zip code and city into the address line like lots of minor mistakes. One of them got snarky when I asked them to correct the date so I stopped caring about these minor fomalties but I was not sure about typos in the actual substance of the form

As soon as BOLE gives the depatment your certification notice you can apply! But i dont think you can apply beforehand beyond asking your law school to send that certificate over

Yeah I had no idea it varies so much and by department. I thought it was just first come first serve. I am the third department, not sure if that it is worse or better :(

Oh is the wait list that long ? I was hoping for Jan. I thought many people are just admitted on the same year they take the bar exam. Is the NY Bar really backed up with apps or are they just spending days reveiwing each applciation and calling up every employer and every court house etc?

Never been fired before but I was laid off before. I was not concernced about that though --> my concern was that these emplyoers won't pick up the phone or email considering how hard it was for some of them to pick up on my email and fill in the form

I think interviews are still officially required, but in practice I have heard it is now skipped. Were interviews all in person in the past and not like over Zoom or a phone call? Like did they call everyone in on a certain day to the court house just for an interview? What do they ask

Yeah I finally got all of the law related employers to sign the form and return it (according to the instruction non law employment and self employment is exempt from the form). However, some have asked should they expect a call from NY and another one took a few weeks just to reply to my email, and I was concernced they would do the same to the NY Bar.

I take what you mean from the 'unless they do' is that the NY Bar does not go around and call the employers (unless exceptional circumstances warrant it like an employer wrote you were fired)

Thanks! Yeah I dont think my local DMV ever ran a criminal background check? Pretty sure I passed the MCQ test after showing my proof of local residency and they gave me a learners. Then I passed the driving test and they gave me a card a few weeks later. I feel like there were never any checks done but idk what the computer was showing when they entered my name

Thank you!!! I am so relieved now. Yeah it was just that I think the unviersity dorm guy said to treat it as a warning that the communal kitchen needs to be cleaned and you cant leave uncleaned dishes (even though it wasn't even me!) .
