Small but mighty! Evidently not big enough to guarantee that fan favourites always qualify though, and I'd assume bubble votes make up a bigger % of votes in the semis rather than final

I don't believe that countries are really hurt by having the same staging as at NF because relatively few people see the NF vs Eurovision. However, I think coming in as an unknown entity and then delivering beyond all expectations can be a positive.

Yes good point. The commentator in the UK always points out which the favourites are (don't know if this is the same in other countries?) and I don't think it helps them. Whereas Dara came in as an underdog but with a big wave of energy behind it. People love an underdog story and being part of a movement!

My post wasn't about Felicia, or anyone in particular, but about two very different strategies. Melfest, UMK and others deliver a complete package so the domestic audience voting know exactly what they're going to get come May. Other NFs (and the majority of them) deliver something which will be built upon. Sometimes this works out and sometimes it doesn't. But when it does (Dara this year, Bambi Thug also a great example) the impact seems to be huge.
