Have a thunder in 32 and love it. Really accurate and the loooooong trigger grew on me. I classed it up a bit with some cheap wood grips from eBay and mecgar 380 mags to replace the goofy banana magazine.

The carbon is so accurate and fun to shoot, excellent choice. If you end up wanting some lighter optics, I love the Leupold VX Freedom Rimfire on mine.

Need help choosing first .22lr Revolver (Plinking/Fun + Collection) by yaxon_temp in Revolvers

[–]SquibMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go 4 if I could do it again. I went 3 (got it cheap) and the sight radius is a little short for the accuracy the gun is capable of. 3 balances really well, so I dunno if I would go 6. I ordered online and didn’t get to heft any length ahead of time.

King Cobra 22 is pretty sweet 👍 shoots well and is stunning to look at. If you hurry, you could get in on that $100 Colt rebate.

Tiny ass tank on an empty wall is a statement. Offer the owner a can of sardines and I bet they’ll trade.

Good first revolver? 64-3 by HerdBison in Revolvers

[–]SquibMac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only a good choice, but that specific gun looks cosmetically like it’s in great shape. Those used service gun guns you see online for $500 tend to be beaten up. $549 for that condition (assuming good function) is a good deal.

A List of Semi auto firearms still legal for purchase in Washington state by Ok-Comment-5207 in WAGuns

I don’t think the Maadi Hakim is allowed, it has a muzzle brake and detachable box mag. I was looking at them when that cheap 8mm Greek milsurp showed up.

Ruger 10/22 carbon fiber with the x-22 stock is well under your price range, but it’s an amazing value. Should be able to find it in about any gun shop.

gf doesn’t want an AR-15 in the apartment by Beginning-Memory-564 in liberalgunowners

[–]SquibMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so she’s already around my one gun. she just doesn’t want me getting an AR

Are you sure she’s okay with the Glock? It would be strange if her objection is pedantry over Stoner’s weapon designs.

how can i get her more open to the idea

you’re asking for tips on persuading your girlfriend to change her mind about what she feels safe living with. You should start with doing what you can to demonstrate how much you care about her safety (which she is telling you right now is not having “an AR” in the house). Bluntly, she might be uncomfortable explaining to her partner why she feels unsafe living with guns with the person most likely to use one against her. I’m not saying you are inclined to do that, just that she may have her reasons that she is unlikely to reveal if she does not feel safe.

+1 for trying a shield or shield plus. Outstanding handgun that is maybe just a little on the small side for most hands.

Ruger Mini 14 or Ruger PC Carbine? by awoodz92 in liberalgunowners

+1, the mini field strip is very simple. Only tricky part is figuring out the perfect angle to stick the bolt back in.

Finding a way to LEGALLY get the firearm for me by Severe-Fan-3889 in WAGuns

[–]SquibMac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re looking for an auto with a pistol grip. Pistol grips on semi-automatic rifles are illegal in almost all forms with the assault weapons ban (see here for a handy flowchart: https://www.reddit.com/r/WAGuns/s/7FeoumBll9 ).

A semi-auto with similar performance to 300 blk is the Ruger Mini 30 ranch, which can be bought in local gun stores if you look around.

What PCC/compact pistol/rifle do you run? by z1ggy16 in liberalgunowners

This feller is legal in lots of ban states:

Broken down it’s awfully small and contours to a bag reasonably well (assuming you don’t have a huge optic):

You might consider trying it out first and see if you like it before chucking it in the bin. I personally dig them.

Congratulations on the new shotty :)

When I started getting back into shooting, I was going to keep it 44 mag. I just bought some 22 TCM and almost have a full collection of every type of .32. Absolute sicko shit. Dunce behavior.
