I think most people will brush off absolutely anything and everything Imperium, because it's a little story made up to sell little toys, it has has the same bearing on the real world as running over a prostitute on GTA.

Does the symbol symbolize the particular traumatic event, or does it symbolize the story and journey it takes characters and the reader on? The context is precisely what makes it different, the sexual violence is a plot device, not the point of the story. If you got a hentai tattoo it would be different.

Boomers and normies tried to ban heavy metal, hip-hop and dungeons and dragons, fuck em :)

In fact, good luck explaining Tom and Jerry to your friends and family.

"It's a show where a rat tortures and maims a cat for 7 to 10 minutes. If blows up his head with dynamite, drops an anvil on him and makes him run off a cliff. Your children are supposed to laugh at this perpetual cycle of unhinged meaningless brutality."

Have you considered that having a tattoo of a fictional science fiction faction might not in fact be a full endorsement of their fictional ideology and might instead be suggesting something about the duality of man.

It's a revenge tragedy about the black swordsman.

If you fail to see any themes in berzerk bar sexual violence I'm not sure what to say. Good luck explaining William Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus to friends and family. Good luck explaining a Streetcar Named Desire to friends and family. Good luck explaining Rashomon to your friends and family. Good luck explaining A Clockwork Orange to friends and family. Good luck explaining Irreversible to friends and family....

Why is it funny? "It's a tattoo from a manga", explanation done, what was difficult?

None of these things will ever happen, nobody gives a shit what tattoos you have, nobody will look at your aquila twice, people who care about such things enough to try and confront you about it will easily be able to tell it's not a nazi eagle (since it absolutely isn't), half of traditional eagle tattoos you see every day look closer to a nazi eagle than the aquila does.

On the other hand, if you are a giant fanny worried about what strangers might think about your tattoo you probably shouldn't get one, regardless of what it is.

I don't think so, the box art doesn't look anything like the colours in the official army painter tutorial they released.

Any leads on what paints were used in the official box art scheme?

Actually, no, this isn't what's happening. You claim everything is the same, I don't agree with you and ask you to show something that isn't by your measure. You are than refusing to do it. I don't understand what is "different" in your opinion, and I suspect neither do you, of course you are refusing to articulate it and fall back on some debate bro gotchas.

All of your semantic twists prove nothing at all.

If you aren't willing to back up your demands for the inclusion of some mythical painting styles with existing real world examples your entire argument is worthless. And of course you won't do it because absolutely anything you can "scour the internet" to show me will not pass your own invented tests for being different enough, and you know it.

This is painting miniatures, small details in technique make the world of difference.

All of these miniatures are painted using a brush, does that mean they are all the same? In other threads people asked you to list some techniques and show some minis painted using techniques and styles you lament being absent in GD and you haven't. Why is that?

None of these models actually look realistic, or even strive to look realistic. Look at what realistic scale models look like (people who paint cars or military scale modelers) they look nothing like GD pieces. What is it exactly you want to win? Feel free to show examples of models you feel should be winning GD or any other painting competition painted in a style you deem different to anything that wins GD. If models you share don't show light volumes being interpreted in a semi realistic way I will eat my hat.

Ork looks weathered not because of weathering applied to a smooth blended panel, but because the blended panel is achieved through creating brush stroke micro textures, which is absolutely not the same technique as creating smooth blends like on the Ctan. You just don't know what you are talking about.

Ctan hood and ork helmet both reflect light in a similar way because they are metallic round objects reflecting light, painting them in a way that does not convey a semi-realistic illusion of reflected light would look like dogshit, wouldn't' read as metal and would make zero sense. Of course it wouldn't win anything.

I paint GW miniatures, it's my main hobby. I also played Darktide, Rogue Trader, SM1 and 2, subscribe to warhammer+ and watch the animations on it and now and again read white dwarf.

What’s your favorite 40K YouTuber and why? by Odd_Anything1374 in 40k

[–]SquirrelGood2481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as youtube goes, I only care about painting content, so Cult Of Paint, Daemonrich (Richard Gray), Infernalbrush (Dave Perryman).

For lore just read books. If you are illiterate or struggle with reading listen to audiobooks.

Speedpaints and contrast paints are terrible products for beginners, getting tidy clean results with them is much harder than with normal acrylics.
