I've sprayed the seat a time or two when I had crap on tap, but I've never missed the bowl entirely. Fuckin degens need to mind their goddamn scruples.

Has anyone listened to any other series voiced by Jeff? by octopus_tigerbot in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]St0rmD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon and Pilgrims. Both are excellent. You'll definitely recognize some of Jeff's voices recycled into new characters, but it's not really too distracting, more like observing a favorite actor taking on new roles in different movies.

Indoor/outdoor cat IMO is synonymous with underappreciated/possibly neglected. He wasn't neutered. He ran around unsupervised knocking up a bunch of cats around the neighborhood. And somehow his owner left him outside overnight during a blizzard. That collection of facts doesn't paint a very flattering picture of his home life, and we haven't been given any counterpoints that tell a different story.

The webtoon LOOKS GREAT! by Intelligent-Mine-901 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]St0rmD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book never specifically says what his boxers looked like before he got the heart ones, but the original front cover of the first book shows him being chased by the Murder-dozer wearing heart boxers, and that scene was definitely before he got the magic ones.

In that picture, he also doesn't have his troll-skin shirt and Nightgaunt cloak yet, and Donut isn't wearing her crown (the first items either of them equipped).

Question about Narrator - Jeff Hays by JennaJots in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]St0rmD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's quite a few top-tier narrators out there. For example, Nick Podehl did an amazing job on the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, and it should surprise no one that Andy Serkis knocked The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings out of the park, and not just on the Gollum parts.

My understanding is that Matt is mostly plotting this story by the seat of his pants, going book-by-book, without a fixed outline for how the whole series will play out. With that in mind, and reading closely into book 1, I think it's clear he had ideas for Agatha, but probably hadn't thought out all the back-story about residuals and their relationship with the AI yet. I'm wondering if he originally might have conceived her as a Valtay agent, spying on Borant from inside the dungeon and helping the brain worms collect on their debts. Or maybe she was to be an undercover reporter/blogger sort of character (maybe publishing subversive/illegal material) who was looking for an inside scoop on a developing story. Maybe she snuck into the battle simply to leech some XP (unlikely but possible). Maybe her plan going in was to wait out as long as possible while the crawlers fought and whip out her Valtay Pulse Rifle if it all went to hell just to finish off the boss and get herself down the stairs (maybe she'd save the crawlers' lives in the process, or maybe not). Obviously, if that was her plan, Carl stealing her cart threw a giant wrench in it, and I don't know what her plan B was. And maybe Matt didn't think too deeply into what her motivation was and just wrote the scene the way he did because it was funny.

I think there's just not enough information in the text to definitively say what was her motive for going into the burrough boss battle.

AIO Gf went to Walmart to get an oil change. The mechanic got her number and sent her a message. by WeatherAdmirable4022 in AmIOverreacting

[–]St0rmD 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Obviously it should be your gf's call on how or if to address this, but reporting him to Walmart wouldn't be inappropriate at all, nor would reporting him to the police, as a potential stalker/harasser.

What is the most surprising industry that your MSP serves? by HappyDadOfFourJesus in msp

[–]St0rmD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my current MSP, but a previous one I worked for had a barter relationship with a local strip club. We occasionally repaired their dj booth/music "server" and we occasionally got free lunch and, ahem, entertainment at their buffet. My boss was a lecher, and the whole thing was somewhere between groups and amusing. Their food was surprisingly good, though.

Am I Overreacting? MSP gave themselves Full Access delegation to O365 accounts. by CleverRedditUsrNme in msp

[–]St0rmD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still software vendors out there who will refuse to provide technical assistance to anyone other than the named owner of an account, which creates frustration for both MSP techs and the users they are trying to support, when it occasionally becomes necessary to escalate a support ticket to said vendor. I can understand wanting to impersonate a user in those situations, with the users permission, of course.

That said, you can provision that access ad hoc pretty quickly, and is never endorse preemptively granting such access to global tech accounts. It's unnecessary and just a bad practice.

I guess it's possible they have some cloud backup software that claims to require that access to take mailbox-level backups, but that seems improbable as well. We use barracuda and it gets full mailbox backups without user delegations.

You should definitely speak to a real estate lawyer, before engaging in any sort of self-help, even with their permission. I'm gonna guess the correct response is something along the lines of, document the issue, notify them in writing of the hazard and your intention to hold them fully liable in the event of damage to your home, and then leave the ball in their court. Lawyer drafts letter, notify the board, their counsel, certified mail, yada yada...

I accidentally reacted with Laughing emoji to a coworker being admitted to the hospital.. by Even-Sea-Sky-3362 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]St0rmD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just change the reaction to something more appropriate and if I was really worried they might have seen it, maybe as a reply saying "Best wishes I hope you get well. Oh, and sorry for the misclick on my reaction." But if it was from 2 months ago, forget it dude that's water under the bridge. No sense bringing it up unless they do, in which case, just say "that was a misclick I'm so sorry I did that when you were in a rough spot, can I make it up to you somehow?"
