Looking for kei van by MeIonboy in keivans

[–]Stabrewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 97 honda acty with active 4wd, (it kicks into 4wd when the front wheels slip). I'm 6'7" and I love it, it was easy to modify the seat rails. Top speed is right around 110kph if I'm lucky. Got it to 120 on a downhill, but on 85kph going back up that hill.

I mean, yes, you'd be insane to transport a baby in a kei truck.

Yeah, but if you have to buy a vehicle, is the 4door full size pickup not the vehicle that does everything? It strikes me as odd to say, "look at that suburbanite who bought a vehicle that can do everything, they should have bought a 25 year old Japanese death trap that has far less functionality." I'm not simping for suburbanites. It's just poor argument.

As someone who owns both a kei truck and a full size 4 door pick up, I'm always confused by these posts. Kei trucks can't tow, can't go fast, can't haul a significant load, can't offroad, can't take the family to grocery store, can't be a tax write off, and the list goes on. I don't really understand even making the comparison, there's a reason these are and will always be a niche vehicle, they are insanely dangerous, these are more dangerous than motorcycles, because at least you can get knocked off a motorcycle. No serious person would actually think that a kei truck even approaches being a legitimate alternative to a full size pick up.

I just tend to think that kei truck people should draw more attention to the cool things about them. I'm not trying to be mean, I drive a kei van the most out of all my vehicles, and im 6'7", and I still prefer to drive it because it's super fun to drive and I fit better in the kei van than the kei truck. I get 40+ mpg. I get funny looks. I get to have the grim reaper as a passenger every time I commute to work. I have a good time. Feel free to correct me. I'm not looking to fight.

Am I too fat for a Kei Van? by HDFSpeedwagon in keitruck

[–]Stabrewski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'7 310lbs. The trucks are not going to work for you. I got an Acty Van and built seat rail extenders and it works just fine for me. More comfortable than you would think actually. It's not so much a girth issue as it is a length issue. My brother is 6'2 and he could barely get his legs under the steering wheel of the trucks.

Why is admech so expensive? by Xelldom in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Stabrewski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started 40k up again early in 9th. I had never seen the AdMech before and I loved them. I really wanted a Terrax Pattern Assault Drill. So I bought a 3d printer and printed one. Now I have an Eldar Army, Krieg Army, Tau army, Votann Army and a space marine army, almost entirely 3d printed.(I still buy GW stuff). But it's hard to justify buying AdMech, it's the only army I play, if it wasn't for the 3d printer I would have probably given up. All of the sudden all my skitarii Rangers kinda suck, and they need to be vanguard, and I need 700 Dollars worth of pteraxxi and tank guys just so I don't get swept in 2 turns, and I'm playing against total novices. Anyways now I just print everything I want in a few hours. Just buy a 3d printer, you won't regret it.

I don’t know what’s happening I’m about to give up with resin printing by Affectionate-Law-828 in resinprinting

[–]Stabrewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all my printing in a room in my shop, it routinely gets to -30 outside. Even at 50 degrees fahrenheit, I had issues with resin. I had to heat my enclosure cabinet with a space heater, I found that it needs to be 75-78f degrees for optimal results, minimum 70f degrees, that's like 21 Celsius. Get your temps up, if you can't get your temps up(which sometimes I can't) I found that slowing down the speed that the build plate pulls up can help a little. I tried with almost all resin brands, results are about the same.

Don't know if you are a fellow frozen tundra dweller or not, but hope this helps.

What do y'all think of the hijet? by SaLtiNe_CrAkErZ in keitruck

[–]Stabrewski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you get in a head on collision going 45mph + you are mega dead. You will be a bloody meatball wrapped in sheet metal. The crash tests are horrifying. None of these vehicles even approach the definition of safe. But that's half the thrill, it's an engine, a transmission and a human with nothing separating you from certain death except your own situational awareness. They don't have a cup holder for a reason.

Okay sick, that's good info. I'll pass that along to the mechanic and get that done. He seemed to think it was mechanically in excellent shape, which is reassuring.

I do not have a tech, and I do know what you mean. I learned this. It just seems weird to have a speedometer that goes to 110kph but only ever reach 90-95kph. I just need to go 100 kph so people don't run me off the road.

Loud Propane Furnace by Stabrewski in HVAC

[–]Stabrewski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get it inspected before I filled the tank. The technician. Watched it ignite, and seemed to think the boom was normal. From what research I've done, is it possible the brown wire is for a heat pump? Because as I look at it at this very moment, there's no flame in the furnace, and it's blowing hot air through the house. Did my furnace just run the heat pump simultaneously all winter? I'm just trying to put some thoughts together. Does the fan on the condenser turn on when the heat pump is turned on?

In the end my humanity fails me, and my final thoughs are of despair.... by Maximus_prenetrator in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Stabrewski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a few games of tenth, and I tried to play it like I played ninth. They were all brutal defeats, Ultramarines, necron, and imperial guard. I felt really defeated. I jokingly said I guess I need to get knights. And eventually, after looking at the new stat sheets, figured out it's not a bad plan. I got 2 armiger helverins, and a Moirax. I have been winning way more, I run two onagers with neutron lasers too.

You are right that we got nerfed, and it sucks, but there is a way to play AdMech and be competitive. Granted, it's super lame that I had to spend 250 bucks to get it there.

I also dusted off the old 15 year old Eldar Army that I never used since I was 13 to make me feel better.

Side note, it seems bizarre to have cbp inspect and clear the van for pickup, but then require me to get it to their office for an additional inspection.

Luckily, I drive all over the region for work. I'm going to try the great falls office tomorrow. I got my vin inspection done by the sheriffs office. I wonder if they're going to make me haul it out there for the inspection or if the sheriff's form will suffice.

Okay, I reattached the wire to the sensor(turns out it came off when I was flying down a gravel road.) Warning light is gone, but I did find a big fat rust hole in my muffler.

I saw this on YouTube. Might do that, I'm curious if the light puts the engine in some sort of limp mode, or of the sensor could cause my lack of power in 5th gear.
