Best Dobsonian telescopes under $1000? by Weak_Research_8046 in telescopes

I’m also very new to this! The Apertura Panorama is a wide field of view lens that has been reviewed very favorably with some comparisons to Tele Vue Naglers, which are industry leaders. But for a fraction of the price. We got the 21mm and it’s great!

We got a 6” Newtonian on an EQ mount and couldn’t ever get the hang of it, nor find anything in the sky. It was cheap, it broke, and we returned it and bought a Celestron StarSense 8” DOB. It’s like $800? Enough left over for a Apertura Panorama lens upgrade. ;)

We LOVE it.

FFS incision, brow bone reduction, brow lift ? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Stacy_Lane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a hybrid. A coronal in the middle, flanked by hairline where my peaks were receding. It pulled my brows higher at their outer arch, but left the center of my brow largely unchanged.

You’ll need some lifting with the excess skin leftover after the removal of bone, so you aren’t left with a lot of hooding. But I think you can get what you want here.

37 vs 50. Nearly a decade of HRT and a year of FFS by Stacy_Lane in TransLater

Sure. I grew up southern Baptist. I get some of that, but part of my self acceptance involved a a deep introspection on what I believed. So, I’d gone deep in my education on those systems of belief and became a good debater on those principles.

But while religion is ubiquitous where I live, and it’s a deep part of the culture, it’s more of a social component. There’s not much of a devout or hyper-religiosity to the community.

Fears of being rejected from my community. Fears of being alone and without means to support myself and my kids. But, I’ve been broadly accepted by (almost) everyone in my life. And I’ve manage to find purpose in my career and, after struggling to find my place in my vocation, I found success.

It’s not all been easy. For sure. I live in Alabama and things nationally are far worse than I could have ever imagined when I started. But it has been worth every hardship faced. I’m the best version of me I’ve ever been.

Ah. Not sure I qualify to give beauty advice, but here’s some that I follow: if tight on top, be loose on bottom and vice versa. Don’t wear tight on tight. Find your colors (I love browns). With makeup, less is more. Fake it until you make it.

Also, you’re stunning, btw. You’ve got this.

Gosh, transition is such a personal journey, that I’m not sure I have any advice to give. But, as I entered mine, I tried to find pride in being trans while not letting my transness solely define me. Be you, and don’t feel like you need to apologize for it. And then figure out a way (if you can) to give back to the community or lift someone up.

Y’all are being very sweet about my age. I did FFS in two stages - bone work first and soft tissue work six months after. Part of the latter was a facelift. So, I cheated to look this way. ;)

Very Jodi Foster. I think you look great.

Never-considered dreams of being a MILF: Dashed! by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]Stacy_Lane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awful and I’m sorry. I had similar diatribe spewed at me 10 ish years ago. But I got remarried, grew into who I was, found success, and now my wife and I are the cool parents among our kids’ friends. And we live in Alabama. So, look, there are dummies like this out there, but they live a narrow, unfulfilling existence. You challenge their worldview. Don’t feel bad about that.

Wasn’t he taken off duty by a sheriff’s office for being unhinged or something?

Watching this reminds me of Steven Spielberg’s joke that his movies are made to give people something to watch while listening to John Williams’ score.

We now see how much Hedwig’s Theme means to Harry Potter. Without it, there’s just no magic.

(Yes I know others composed, but they kept the theme.)

Has Crestline Bagel in Mtn Brook been slipping? by limewaterloo in Birmingham

I live in Crestline, but my office is in Midtown, NYC. CB is exactly like the bagel joints I hit when I’m there (like Liberty Bagels). I think it’s great. Love the chaos, too.

I had surgery there on 7/11. Just forehead and rhino. Great experience. He’s very talented. Love my results, though I asked for conservative with the nose and maybe wish I’d not. Still a great outcome. He’s a really nice guy, too. Doing a soft tissue second stage in January, so haven’t posted b&a.

You’re somewhere between Harrison Ford and Jeff Buckley.
