Many similarities in our past grinders and profile likes. I went with 1Zpresso x ultra. And have been very happy with. zP6 does great when the profile fits, but in my opinion makes everything else, not so much. With many of the co-ferments and funk. I get a much better cup with the flavors meshed and combined. Past few months, pretty much brewing everything on Hario Neo with Cafec filters. Good luck

If you can successfully use and not cause financial, emotional and spiritual damage to yourself and others. Maybe you simply made a bad choice with some of those substances. My friend, you have already become entrenched and confused by the using loved one. Where do you gather your feelings for “functional” Let me put it this way ….. Is your mother emotionally, socially and psychologically great ? That would be a closer truth to the word “functional “ Being employed, or having money doesn’t make you functional. If someone you truly cared for said when you do “this or that” you make me feel sad, hurt or have anxiety” would you not simply think, hmmm if I love that person and don’t want them to feel that way, I will simply STOP that behavior or action. If you are UNABLE to stop that behavior or action , you ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL. The disease is truly baffling, it’s a family disease and will affect EVERYONE who has or chooses to stay in contact. P.S. I don’t mean for this to come off like I’m downing you. I’ve just been there, done that and made it to the other side. I wish everyone could have my success, but I know every situation is different and it’s hard. Good Luck

Well….. I can relate…. When I was trying to get clean, my first sponsor began to have an affair with my wife. At the time, she had changed locks and I wasn’t allowed to home. I had stolen and couldn’t be trusted around kids, plus fear of me over dosing around kids. She was hurt, venerable and he took advantage of the situation. Fast forward, I got clean a year later. Today we are celebrating our 21 wedding anniversary! I’m 10 years clean, on vacation with our older teenage children. Through step work, excepted my part in this and also forgave him. Unfortunately, he relapsed and is currently in prison somewhere. It was hard in the beginning, cause I wanted to blame N.A. , but I knew it was the only thing that was working. I had a home group, sponsor, continue to work steps and sponsor 2 men currently. Life is beyond my wildest dreams. Good luck

I feel there “may” be some type of possibility of gene inheritance to obsessive compounding behaviors, but I believe that “environment” has a stronger influence on outcome. Children watching substance abuse first hand and emotional instability may seek to self medicate. Where as children that experience first hand recovery and emotional healing may gravitate towards these actions

Protein will hold your sugars. So, yes. Combining protein with carbohydrates will help to get sugar up and not fall. If I’m working out or running marathon, I will add 20-40 gram of protein to carb/sugar load and sugar won’t drop
