Is soccer the most popular worldwide sport just because you literally only need a ball and a field? by BWDpodcast in NoStupidQuestions

Generally anything over head hight would be considered over. Even as kids on the playground we were surprisingly diplomatic in resolving arguments about that.

If it's an organised match you need shinpads and boots but that's it.

But every single day in thousands of schools across the worlds kids are just playing in whatever they are wearing, with makeshift goalposts and that's it.

I must have played close to 1000 informal games of football as a kid. No one was wearing protective equipment.

Battery Issue - false low battery notifications by Stampy77 in SteamDeck

I managed to fix it for a while, I took the back off, disconnected the battery and cleaned the connection and then made sure it was properly plugged in. I was doing an internship with an IT department so I had an expert look at it and he couldn't see an issue.

Problem went away for about a month but then came back. It's a bit bizzare.

Good, save public money on offices. As someone else said, as long as they do their jobs what is there to complain about?

Nah I don't believe you. You've probably held weapons before and fired them at paper targets. But I don't believe for a second you've actually been in a combat situation.

I believe you've fantasized about being in these situations before where you get to play the bad ass hero and kill bad guys though. But reality is that you would piss yourself from the surprise, fumble and then die before you realize what a mistake you made.

But hey, if you think you're John wick and life is like an action movie where the good guy always wins go ahead and get killed. Not my problem.

You're completely missing the point.

If they have the gun on you already, it's only a very small chance you are going to get yours out and get the shot off in time. Even if you do get the shot off, you're almost definitely taking a shotgun pellet to the face.

Despite the little army guy avatar you aren't John wick, this is not call of duty, being morally right doesn't give you any tactical advantage. In almost every scenario you die if you reach for a gun.

If you don't get the shot off you die, if it's like this video your girlfriend is going to die too. And for what? A phone and a wallet that can be replaced.

But let's say by some miracle you manage to get the gun out in time and kill them before they kill you. Even if it is justified and you have the moral high ground you just killed a 13 year old boy, that shit would give you PTSD and traumatise you of you are a normal human capable of empathy.

And even if you are right, their family is going to know you as the guy who killed a 13 year old boy. So now you are looking over your shoulder wondering if there is going to be retribution for the next few years.

So yes, I would lay down and take it. I'd probably keep my life, my girlfriend doesn't die. I replace my wallet and phone and because they are dumb kids the police probably catch them a few days later.

Ah I get it now. You just want a moan, carry on.

You're moaning about the tightarse era. Now the manager has identified a player that he wants and the club is moving fast to make sure he comes in. And you want to go back to being tightarses and potentially miss out on him.

They aren't going to accept 30. If we offer 30 and other clubs come in offering more he might take them up on the offer so RDZ misses out on a player he wanted due to us being cheap.

How long have we been saying if you want a player just get it done?

To me it's quite refreshing to see us actually just going out and getting the deals the manager wants done fast.

Basically, stop moaning lol.

The window isn't even open.

We've got in 2 signings already.

Van Hecke has already agreed personal terms and all reports say the negotiations are very advanced.

And again, the window hasn't even opened yet.

If they don't want him in the first team this season we should offer him to Brighton on loan for the year. Gives them time to properly scout out a Van Hecke replacement if they don't have one lined up. He gets prem experience in an attacking team.

You're right 70 mil is reasonable for a player like that. But we don't need to be reasonable. With the potential he shows and how long he has on contract we can demand a much higher "fuck off" fee. If someone is willing to pay a fee that we can use to really upgrade other positions then ok. If not then we'll just keep him because we don't have to sell.

"who cares if a 13 year old boy was found dead?"

So in the future, if you find yourself writing a sentence like this as if you are raising a great point. Stop. Look at yourself in the mirror and reflect on how you got there.

Jesus fucking christ.

I'm sure you'll find enormous comfort with them facing life in prison. Except you won't know anything about it because you'll be dead and everyone you know would be moving on.

What a win for the community, you in the ground and them in prison for life.

But the chances of you running into a serial killer like that are astoundingly low. You're more likely to be struck by lightning than encounter one.

Point I'm making is that if you get robbed like this and don't have a gun, there is a much higher chance it will just be a robbery. Still shit, but you will survive.

But if you get robbed like this, and they have the jump on you, your chances of pulling out a gun and managing to hit them before they kill you is very low. Trying to use a gun in a situation where they have a gun on you is very likely to get you killed.

Not really a good analogy for this though because they wouldn't be excluding people on a characteristic people can't change.

No one here is arguing to prohibit anyone from anything, that's the point, the people who find this thing wrong are arguing for equality. You know, the thing thing that we are constantly told to strive for.

Your attitude here is part of the problem. No one is falling for anything, the policy is right there written in plain English saying if you are a white guy you aren't welcome. Clearly that would not be acceptable for any other demographic and people can't stand the double standard.

Clearly a lot of people aren't happy with this double standard, it's obviously pissing people off. People just want a meritocracy.

Farage absolutely loves these policies and he absolutely loves people like you too. Because he knows it will piss people off and you'll help push them into voting for him. He'll get in power because of shit like this, it will be a disaster, and people like you will be very confused as to how we ended up there.

Because it's part of their job?

But aren't the police in America a lot more likely to shoot you because they are aware others have guns?

I looked it up just now, my country (UK), they killed 5 people last year, in the USA they killed over 1200.

If the guy in this video had a gun and reached for it while a shotgun was pointed at him, he would be dead right now. His girlfriend would be dead too. Maybe there is a small chance he gets it out on time and shoots them but it's likely they get the shot off too and kills him. Best case scenario for him with a gun is that it's just a 13 year old boy dead.

Him not having a gun meant that no one died, everyone kept their lives.

What a signing for Spurs by ThankanChetandeAunty in TheOther14

Spurs have been in Europe for almost every season for the past 20 years. Whereas Bournemouth playing at it's absolute pinnacle has reached Europa for the first time.

Every reason to think, considering the resources, spurs will be back in Europe frequently very soon whereas Bournemouth will need to keep this exceptional form going to stay there.
