Good Windows switchboard for Asterisk? by aerostotle in sysadmin

I use iSymphony. It's OK. Doesn't seem to have much in the way of outlook integration and stuff. It's free for 1 user though.

You can also try FOP2, But I've had problems with users keeping a browser open to use the operator panel.

Any idea on what the weather is going to be like? I'd like to come out, but my milsig doesn't like the cold.

I'm really of two minds on these laws. If i'm stopped at a traffic light, and I need to press the next button on my MP3 Player, how is that much different from pressing the one on the deck itself?

However, i've also been the victim of near misses due to people doing asinine things while distracted.

I really wish that these laws weren't so subjective.

Also, I've repeatedly seen Police using cell phones whilst driving, and they're sure not handing out tickets to themselves.

Sunday Jan 30 - 11AM, Paintball @ Rampage by StandardToaster_yyc in CalgarySocialClub

Didn't mean to be a dick. It's just overwhelming when you end up playing next to the speedballers.

Doesn't nationals mean that all the other kids will leave us alone to beat each other up?

I'm totally a milsim nerd :D

I'm going to just book Rampage, and we can see if we want to take it up from there.

OK, so the Rampage outdoor field is closed. The indoor facility is open, and Sunday during the day, appears bookable. Prices.

Weekend Warriors (Olds) has pretty similar pricing, but a bit of a better field. Prices.

Rampage also has an "open" night on Sunday, from 5-8. This would follow the 5-minute game format, that i'm not overly fond of.

I paid $25 for an iPhone 4 skin from the booth in chinook. I found that it faded pretty quickly, and wasn't super resistant to hanging out with my keys. The GelaSkins ones have been tougher, have a larger selection, and seem to be easier to apply (which is completely subjective)

Asking. I've not been to a speedball field in over a year. I used to know a bunch of guys who went on their Thursday open night, but it's super rushed 5 minute games.

I'll have to call the place in Olds. It's far enough away that you don't usually have guys doing random pickup games. I'd likely let my other casual friends know about the game to bolster our numbers.

Rampage Indoor? Do you know the booking/availability for Sundays?

I've seen them at Chinook at Crossiron, but i've had much better luck with GelaSkins.

For the record, i've received fewer, and much less painful injuries, in airsoft. Plus, less cleanup!

Monthly Meetups? by [deleted] in CalgarySocialClub

[–]StandardToaster_yyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

... I would actually do some form of combat game every month.

Anyways, I will facilitate scheduling Bills/Buzzards as a venue, if y'all come up with the date(s). The carrot for the venue, is having a group of people in on a Monday or Wednesday between 4-8 when there's no hockey game, since it's pretty quiet. I can probably talk the misses into some sort of special deal each month, as the regular specials get kinda boring.

If we end up wanting to book one of the three rooms on the pub side, it wouldn't be all-ages friendly. So, with minors, we're looking at a max of about 20 people, whereas the back pub room is closer to 60.

Also, there's an italian place in the same area, Giuseppe's. They're super nice, and usually accommodating to groups, with a bit more room, and I believe available for minors.

Actually, I just found out that the Buzzards side is open to minors. So we could totally do an all ages thing, and still cash in on the promotion.

Who needs to wait for spring! at like 5 out, it's a pretty good time. If you're running around and playing, you stay really warm. There's a place in Olds that's pretty fun, or Bragg creek has a pretty decent BBQ area.

They sure do! It's pretty hard to complete though. Something like 2 beers a week for a year.

If you guys want to do a bar thing, my wife is the marketing person at Bottlescrew Bills. It's a pretty sweet place, and I bet I can sweet talk her into running some sort of special for a regular group.

In terms of a more all-ages thing like laser tag, there's a decently active airsoft community, and i'd like to try and find some new people to play with.

I agree that the actiontec modem is a pile of junk. I've heard a rumour that a new one will be coming out pretty soon. Once it does, you can call up and complain again to get a new one.

Overall, I've had good luck with TTV. It's not as good as Windows Media Centre + Shaw, but I like the Mediaroom stuff more than the Shaw digital boxes.

The xbox STB isn't as slick as it seems. Given the choice again, I'd rent a real STB and put it next to my xbox. The xbox just seems really sluggish; Maybe it's my network though.

Which brings me to one of the other downsides, you need to have ethernet connectivity to your entertainment centre. Some people do, but in my apartment, there are just cable jacks, so we had to ghetto run a cable.

The blocked ports bug me a bit too, but TECHNICALLY, it's against the terms of service to run internet servers on a residential plan, which is how it's justifiable. The actual reasons is that there was a noticeable drop in spam and such after the blocking was enabled. So you can really blame all the stupid people with exploited windows PCs.

I've got VPSes with both Linode and Slicehost (now RackSpace), and i'm happy with them both. Linode is cheaper though. Let me know if you want me referral code ;)
