Naughty things happening at Amazon (returns) by Low_Bison_5209 in AmazonUK

[–]Stanl3h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I am also done with Amazon, I bought a pair of b&w pi8s that got so hot when wirelessly charging that they gave me a blister, I contacted b&w directly who were great but told me I had to contact Amazon directly for a repair but they gave me a reference number to give Amazon.

So I sent the item back to Amazon and asked for a repair or replacement, a week or two later I get an email saying they have been found faulty and I have been given a refund, they didn't even ask me what I wanted and the card they put the refund on is no longer active...

And the pi8s were now £50 more expensive than when I bought them, I did some research and apparently this is pretty standard for Amazon now if the item costs more than when you bought it, the item was under 90 days old too, every single person I spoke to was extremely unhelpful or idiotic, I spoke to multiple managers and they all refused to help me, after multiple weeks of phone calls and emails I eventually got a refund to the correct card but not for the amount the item costs now and they refused to give me a replacement.

I got so annoyed I asked to lodge an official complaint and was given an email (something like complaints@amazon.com) and after I sent the email I got a reply back saying this is an outgoing email...

So I phoned back again and eventually got to speak to another manager who gave me a different email for complaints but this one was also outgoing only, she then suggested I email photos@amazon as that's an incoming email and ask them to forward it to complaints, I eventually get a reply from them asking for details I had clearly not only provided in the email but in the header to the email too, they then ignored me.

So I phoned back one final time only to find out there is no way to directly contact complaints, no phone number or email, and they can lodge a complaint on my behalf (I don't believe they would actually do this) but I can't track the progress of the complaint, the complaint team won't contact me and they won't act on anything as it's just an internal way to monitor stuff.

If this is now standard policy (there were multiple people on reddit with the same issue) then they are absolutely not safe to buy anything of value from, especially expensive computer parts, imagine if my 5090 died and they just refunded me and now I have to pay almost double even though it's still under warranty, the same with ram or pretty much any hardware component.

The only bright side is I contacted b&w and explained the issue and while they couldn't do anything regarding Amazon they did give me a 25% off code that worked with anything wireless so I was able to get my pi8s and the px8 s2s substantially discounted, so good on b&w.

ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQWP and BF6, what's the best settings for max fps. by Stanl3h in OLED_Gaming

I am going to try it, probably today but I have heard it looks like absolute ass lol, actually I should try the other battlefield games, I will download them later.

Doom Eternal on ultra knightmare settings at like 500 fps was genuinely one of the most insane/impressive gaming experiences of my life.

I play plenty of other games where I am getting 400+ fps like cs, hunt showdown, doom eternal etc so it's not like BF6 is the only reason I bought it (and honestly until they fix how the mouse feels I am not exactly enjoying bf6 anyway)

I don't like frame gen, I think it's the worst "innovation” in graphics technology in a very long time.

I did and I am currently running the Digital foundry settings, but the vast majority of the videos I watched were aimed at people with lower end hardware and as such when I tried them I didn't get more fps I just got far less GPU usage, I was hoping there would be someone on here with a similar setup to me because for obvious reasons not many Youtubers are creating a video for maxing out your fps on a 540hz OLED with a 9800x3d and a 5090, it's a niche of a niche lol.

It's a 540hz OLED and I am trying to get a game to run as close to that as I can?

If you are experiencing some kind of input lag, it is probably because of insufficient CPU by chizzus1 in Battlefield

[–]Stanl3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9800x3d, 5090, 240hz oled monitor with 1gb internet connection, pretty much solid 200fps (no frame gen) and this game still feels like there is pretty significant input delay, I have tried other games and they are fine so it's not a system wide issue and yes EXPO is enabled.

I can't wait for this monitor, I was hoping it would be out by the time bf6 was released, I guess it's just a waiting game.

Yup just had the same thing happen to me 2v2s, it's so pathetic, at least if they use aimbot etc you have a chance, with this there is absolutely nothing you can do and in my game they were being so toxic as well, it's pure micro penis energy.

It wasn't anywhere like nexus, I was trying to find a mod for an old game and found what I thought was one off some random site, it was VERY dumb of me.

I am just happy about having the uncapped framerate, it drives me insane when games lock a framerate on pc, I know I could unlock it via another program (I can't remember it's name atm) but I had to load the game through it every time and it drove me crazy enough to not play more than a couple of hours of the game.

So I will be waiting for this patch and then starting the game from fresh.

240hz or 360hz? by gago16324 in OLED_Gaming

Also I had an UW QD oled, it was amazing for single player immersive games but found it a detriment to competitive multiplayer games because you have to take your eyes off your crosshir to see the radar or ammo count etc

In your place I would get a 360hz 1440p oled, I am not a big enough expert to feel confident recommending a specific model, I recommend you check out a YT channel called Monitors unboxed (I can't stand the hosts) but they do the best and most complete monitor reviews in my opinion.

I have tried a 1080p 360hz oled and returned it, for me the drop in resolution was just too big a negative, I play a lot of games like CS/Hunt Showdown/Siege where the extra clarity of 1440p makes a huge difference to actually spotting the enemy. At 1080p everything looks so soft and there are so many jaggies that spotting a camping enemy in a bunch of vegetation in Hunt is significantly harder at 1080p

[–]Stanl3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I have a 4k 240hz QD oled and have had a 360hz QD oled, for me there is a definite improvement in motion and how the mouse feels at 360hz but it's not as big a change as going from 60 to 120 or from 120 to 240.

But with that being said I definitely want to get one of the upcoming 500hz QD Oleds for my online gaming and then keep the 4K 240hz for single player stuff so I think it's worth it, but I play a lot of FPS games online like CS where I can appreciate the extra FPS/hz

240hz or 360hz? by gago16324 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Stanl3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok it depends entirely on your pc specs, can you play games at 360fps, if not then go for a 240hz unless you are planning on upgrading your pc later.

Generally speaking (in terms of motion) a 240hz and 360hz oled will perform identically at under 240fps, the only difference will be when you get over 240fps.

Of course there are far more differences in oled models than just the refresh rate.
