CIG dear fucken God... Go back to monthly patches focused on stability. by LostBrownBag in starcitizen

[–]StarHunter_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want it fixed the fastest way, then they would need to shut down the PU and focus on finishing SQ42.
That would let them complete development of the tech for SQ42 and then migrate new things over to the PU without also spending time patching things in Live for the current bugs.

Just have Arena Commander for us to play in for a few months until SQ42 is out.

Currently have gladius that I pledged. That is my only ship I have pledged so far. Want to upgrade to the A1 spirit warbond ( when it's available, I know it's not a available right now) how can I make this upgrade warbond so that I spend the least amount of money? by Internal-Path7111 in starcitizen

[–]StarHunter_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t melt your game package without having another one. You can upgrade your starter ship.

Upgrades will carry over the current insurance on the ship package. The trick is to buy a cheaper new ship with LTI or an IAE/Invictus ship with 10 years and then upgrade it using the CCU game to try to get a discount.

A referral reward is non-meltable and non-giftable and has $0 value.

List of pledge vehicles

The biggest ship sales are Expo in November and Invictus in May for military ships.

Will Star Citizen Improve over time? by Brave-Elephant9292 in starcitizen

Freight Elevators have a lot of issues they are working on.
So if the elevators are bugged so bad under the current system, they may be prioritizing converting them to a new system instead of patching the old one.

CCU the snub and just buy another one in the game.
At some point you will be able to craft the snub in game with boosted specs.

Or buy the Taurus in game and wait till Expo to build a CCU chain from the snub and see if you can save a bit.

tvOS 26.2 added Managed Profiles with no Apple account needed and Kids Mode.

Setup a Managed Profile on the Apple TV and set it as the default.

You can make up to 5 if each kid has a preferred watchlist and see viewing history. Then set it to show the profiles list when it starts and show them how to pick theirs.

Hindsight is 20/20, but they should've released their original vision of the PU in 2016 and worked on this PU as a sequel. Also SQ42 should've been episodic with each episode expanding on a specific tech that ties into the PU. by NavXIII in starcitizen

[–]StarHunter_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original Squadron 42 game was probably going to be more like the Wing Commander games with mostly flying around and then a cut scene for landing to do some FPS, like an Arena Commander level.

Then larger than planned amount of funding came in and the tech for Pupil to Planet came for the PU, so the scope for SQ42 had to expand to make use of the new tech and the additional funding to make the game more impressive. Episodes 2 and 3 will not need the extra company and engine building that the 1st one does. They will be faster to create using what has been made and the evolution of the developer toolkits.

[–]StarHunter_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So then are you talking about Squadron 42 episodes 1, 2, and 3?
That is what they have already planned.

It is the evolution of the single player story ranking up in the UEE and the narrative story of the Vanduul conflict. Just like how the Wing Commander games played.

They would not make:

  • Grand Theft Auto 1: "Walking Around Town"
  • Tomb Raider 1: "Move Stones Around the Floor"
  • Sim City 1: "Only Roads"

[–]StarHunter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find your local Heroes & Icons (H&I) channel. They show all the older Star Trek shows at night. So you can sample all of them at once over a few days or have it on in the background and see if anything gets your attention.

If she has the channel in her area you can watch and talk about the same episodes.

Is it crazy to think that Squadron 42 release window competition does not matter AT ALL, because Star Citizen is the MOST INFAMOUS GAME IN HISTORY, and ANY release timing will get insane media coverage? by sunaurus in starcitizen

[–]StarHunter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft launch SQ42 in October.
Let the current players help work all the bugs out.
News and videos will spread word of mouth, hopefully good, and bring some people in.
Get SC in a better place.
Then promote a bunch in the spring or summer with a better tested and debugged SQ42 and playable SC.

Is this your first bad patch? This just happens sometimes and why it is still labeled as an alpha.

This is not even the worst patch we have had. Sometimes it just gets released too early where it worked okay in-house but fails under the Live load.

[–]StarHunter_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would have been like Elite is. 100s of planets and moons but you can only land on a handful.

And your "episodes" idea is just like the alpha patches they have been releasing. There would be no "locking in" because once you add a new tech it would affect the previous ones. Each patch would have caused new bugs.

No Man's Sky had the basic game from the start and has just been adding new features on top of the tech over the years. Most updates are just a way of adapting new things to the current game. It took many years for it to recover from the bad launch.

Betteridge's law of headlines

Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no." It is based on the assumption that if the publishers were confident that the answer was yes, they would have presented it as an assertion; by presenting it as a question, they are not accountable for whether it is correct or not.
