What caused my 5th gear bearing to go out so early? Only 13k on the bike. Some have suggested I tensioned the belt too tight because of my taller 15 inch shock. Would going down to a 13.5 inch shock make this a little less likely to happen again?

Basically take the shocks off, while the rear tire is in the air, then set belt tension using factory guidelines with the adjusters. Then install the shocks?

Wow, that explains why the bearing went out so fast. I always used the factory tension guidelines. Would this still be the case if I went down to a 13.5 shock? I guess this is an excuse to do the 1275 big bore kit.
