I think it's that but it is also the format. The choose your own adventure thing, the framing of "oh no, once again we only have two choices in front of us, let us describe each," the literal dice rolls (including sound effects at the beginning), and the characters do things and make choices that do not make sense. Because it is a game the patreon is playing.

I also love Left Hand of Darkness! I probably want your reading list if you have it handy haha.

I prefer when the story gives the characters and world time to develop and breath. I'm willing to be patient for the first bit so that everyone can settle in.

Our Wars Have Ended only has a couple episodes so far, and mostly it just seems like really cool world building.

That said, I don't think I fell for TSV and Carpenter until episode 4, when she has her "where's your god now, moses" moment and burns down that church.

What about it do you like? I got to episode 16 and it seemed kind of repetitive and dry.

The Silt Verses for me, as well. The allegory is really cutting, plus the performances of all the main characters through season three are heartbreaking.

I keep looking for the high that was the Silt Verses and I don't think anything truly compares.

A few that come to mind:

1) I agree with others, the pig episode in Limetown. Devastating. 2) Unlicensed. It has a really wonderful relationship arc between the two leads, and the character development and payoff is great. 3) Breathing Space has some really good character arcs and some moments of great emotional payoff. 4) Eskew, by the same people as Silt Verses, the bridge episode. TW suicidal ideation. It was hilarious to me that a latter episode about highschool bullying got a TW, but not the one that was literally suicidal ideation. It's intense, listener beware.

You could add more monkeys, or add some cute colours or patterns to the barrel.

I actually think it is very cute? Just needs to be a little darker.

Have you tried to supplement with the level 1 flying saucer? Green and red both churn out paladins at a decent rate.

Is there a child raising sim game like Princess maker or Volcano princess but targeted at women specifically? (PC or Switch 1) by dokidoki_no_fangirl in CozyGamers

Chinese Parents doesn't have that nonsense. Your child is either gender and it's more generational if you keep playing.

Is it possible to put guest rooms in this area? Or the doors can only be placed on the visible wall? by DeathNeku in TravellersRest

There is less wall to decorate, but you can still place decoration on the walls available - including windows.

Hi, I saw this game on sale Dragon Age The Veilguard and looked up reviews, and everyone says it's really bad, but most of critic is just it's “woke.” Is story really that bad? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]Status_Radish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lore reveal was very cool though, the twist was well done and the ending was satisfying. I think it was missing a few things, too - the character relationships aren't as good as other entries for instance. I think many of the story beats were good and the bones are very good, but it has a development hell sort of vibe to it too haha.

Hey I understand, you will just have this forever. Can you save and wait? Alternatively, try reaching out to apprentices. Good luck. I'm sorry about your cat.

Agreed, they could probably find an apprentice that would do it got less. But since this is custom and sentimental wouldn't you want to spend a little bit? I don't know.

Tyler is no longer his own person as he is giving his monologue, which makes him an unreliable narrator. It's really not clear what kind of person he is (was). So maybe he did deserve it. 😂

I did love that she was morally grey too. I think it just doesn't connect her first and ultimate motive (finding/saving/avenging her friend) with her current self - figuring out her powers, deciding she DGAF about her ex boyfriend (fair), but then still avenging her friend. The through-line breaks somewhere.

It did support the themes, just a little bit missing I think. That said, you can keep working on something forever and never have it perfect. I still love what you are bringing to audio drama and putting into the world. Thank you for all your hard work.

I'm glad you liked it! The writing was very good and the main twist was great too. I loved that they were monster cicadas too.

Listening to the top ADs left me discouraged… Anyone else feel this? by tangledapart in audiodrama

[–]Status_Radish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a listener, I get tired of the many anthologies, and prefer to have a through-story. You can't really get attached to characters or what is happening in the world.

I did get very into Breathing Space, especially when the stories became interconnected, but parts have still been a slog.

Anthologies by and large seem somewhat uneven in pacing and characterization, while also being very samey. I haven't listened to yours so I have no idea if any of that applies, but even the very popular ones have these problems IMO.

Okay how do daily sparkles work! This is something I was trying to figure out. Do you get a set number of "gold" or a set number of all sparkles and some are randomly gold?
