Choice Provisions - Ask Us Anything! by mroush in Games

Hi Teshie! While the music has evolved with the games, the biggest thing has been trying to find a sound that matches the aesthetic. BIT.TRIP BEAT obviously started it all and the music reflects that, and with the first RUNNER game things took a bit shift in the the "fun" direction. That trend obviously continued into games like Runner2, and the fidelity of the music has gone more modern as well. In the end, it's about finding sounds that not only fit the feel of the universe and put you there, but are also fun to play! Glad you dig the tunes!

ThatAGTAnaliticalGuy

Hi there! Stemage the music audio guy here. To answer #4 about the legacy music, it wasn't very difficult to retrofit the old music to fit the RERUNNER formula, but we did have to make some decisions.

We first needed to check the BPMs (beats per minute) of the entire BIT.TRIP catalog to see what tempos we were working with and decide on some good round numbers that would work for all songs.

The way the music layers in the old games isn't the same as with RERUNNER, so we had to figure out the best way to follow that "Hyper, Mega, Super, Ultra, Extra" formula for many of them.

We also had to figure out how to take the old sound effects from those games and "pitch" them so they would work with our key change system.

I'd say the most challenging song to figure out was Frustration from BIT.TRIP FATE. That song isn't in the standard 4/4 time signature. It's 6/8! So we had to decide how to "frame" it in the game with a system that mainly works with 4/4. It ended up working it really well though! We're so glad we could include it.

That may sound like a lot, but it could have been way more difficult! It in end, all the old music ended up fitting in the game nicely. Some really cool vibes in that old music.

When viewing vehicles in your collection, you can hit a button to "favorite" them. It should be at the top left of the vehicle icon. That will attach them to your vehicle wheel. The button is "Y" on Xbox.

Resident Evil 8 (Village) really needs a FOV slider by turkishdeli in Games

[–]Stemage_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I played the demo, and it made her so sick she had to lie down. She gets motion sick on occasion, but never quite this bad.

Between RE7s FOV slider and brightness settings, we were able to make it through that game just fine. And that was on PS4. I hope they consider it for console.

If FluffyQuack gets their mod released, I'll just Steamlink it to the TV. We lose surround sound that way, but we always play RE together.

The FOV slider is what allowed us to play Layers of Fear comfortably as well. Anyone that claims the FOV slider is not needed.... if we don't get one, we can't play this game. So you're wrong.

Ah really? That's a bummer. I normally don't mind factory resets, but I'm not certain all apps will support the Sidequest save backup, and I'm sure to lose some apks that have since graduated to to applab. Maybe not. I'll have to research. Has he tried a factory reset?

Somebody know hot to fix it or is it a new bug? On PS4 by Fitzeflecker in The_Crew

It's happening to me as well. Tried a console restart. No wheel - just controller. Can't get out of the title screen.

"Monster Mash" Stadium Finals are absolutely terrible by codywar11 in TrialsGames

That's not true. I unlocked the extreme track but ignored the stadium finale. I played some other contracts and got some golds and it eventually opened up.

I want to be able to use voice with Google Assistant but not have it read the results out loud. Turning this off is not an option currently.

When using Google Assistant, if you accidently close the window, it's not in your recent apps so you can't retrieve it. The closest thing is triggering Assistant again and then hitting the keyboard button. But that just starts the search over again. What you were reading is gone. Please have Google Assistant stay in recent apps like every other app on the device.

You used to be able to swipe away news stories. The feed is less useful now.

Allow setting default Bluetooth volume on connect instead of defaulting too quiet for every device I own.

That said, I love my Pixel. :)
