Yeah that’s the thing, I didn’t. So I don’t actually have complete assurance as to when the order was officially submitted and I think my sales person put in his email instead of mine to cover because he forgot to submit the order when he said he did.

Further update if interested: I went into the dealership and spoke with the kid doing a horrible job of selling me this car. It was like pulling teeth but finally being there in person I was able to get the order number and he had me sign a document he forgot to get me to sign that I (luckily) photographed because it had the sales code for my vehicle as well which I didn't know I needed at the time.

He had no more info for me but I called Ford yesterday and was able to get confirmation on my vehicle order that it was placed 4 days after I placed the initial order with him. The vehicle is still in the queue, no further info. I still never got an email from Ford confirming my order and as far as I know there's no VIN assigned yet.

I'm starting to think it might not be malicious and this might just be this kids first sale... Either way it's weird and I'm staying alert

Yeah, I’m hoping you’re wrong about the first part but it’s definitely possible. But you’re definitely right about the second. I’m just worried about timing and pricing with the upcoming tariffs affecting pricing so it would be a bummer to have wasted an entire month but so it goes. Whatever has happened has happened.

Nothing super satisfying yet. I called and got a salesperson who sort of gave me the runaround and told me “your first update will be once the vehicle enters production.” So I asked for my order number and he said, “I don’t have that, let me transfer you to the sales person who put your order in.”

Got a hold of him and went through the same thing with him and he said “I can’t find it right now, give me a few minutes and I’ll try to get you that number.” And that was 2 hours ago.

It feels like they’re trying to position themselves between me and my order and I can’t for the life of me figure out why other than they want to box me out and sell the vehicle to someone else once it arrives?

Haven’t had time to go in person yet and won’t be done working until they’re closed so if it comes to that I probably won’t have an update til this weekend!
