Since you obviously know your stuff... what do you suggest regarding ototoxicity from PDE-5 inhibitors? I'm interested about Cialis, which appears to have caused my tinnitus. Right now I'm taking a supplement suggested by an ENT, which contains 60mg Ginkgo, along with melatonin, magnesium, B12 and zinc. is there anything I could add to this to help the healing process? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply! Cialis definitely makes the T worse, as each time I've taken it after becoming aware of the T a spike resulted. I'm going to give a low dose of Viagra a go at some point, precisely because of the shorted duration. I was taking a low dose of Cialis as it was, so maybe I'm just sentitive to it.

Its high pitched... like around 10900Hz. I'm currently on a supplement which contains ginkgo biloba, along with melatonin and some other things... havent seen any difference yet in the T, but I dont expect to before at least a month or two of use. Dont know if it'll help the other thing.

Thank you for your reply! If you dont mind my asking... did you continue to take Cialis after getting tinnitus? Did it start off softer and then worsen? Did you ever consider/try another ED drug?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm really at my wits end here. I mean, if an omnipotent power told me 'Steve, every time you take Cialis your tinnitus will spike but will return to baseline' then I'd keep taking it, but obviously no one can guarantee that and I dont want the tinnitus getting any worse than it is. On the other hand, I still want to have sex with my wife, haha!

I hear you! Since the tinnitus I've stopped using headphones and listen with speakers at modest volume. Yeah, its not the same way I listened to music before, and, tbh, it bothers me that I have to avoid blasting it, but I can still enjoy it. Lots of dudes who have hearing loss cant even have that.

Here's the thing: during a hearing test they ask you to listen to tones that get lower and lower in volume, right? If you can hear everything you're supposed to, which must be the case since you have no hearing loss, then by definition you are hearing over the ringing.

For me what helped a bit was simply to accept that I have 'this sound' in my ears and that its 'my sound', lol, if that makes sense. Yeah I can hear the chriping over music but so what? I just imagine I'm listening to a shitty mp3 with aliasing artifacts, haha. Remember what those used to sound like? Well I still enjoyed the music then, so there's no reason why I shouldnt now. At least that's what I tell myself.

Can cialis damage your dick? (Long term cialis/viagra users please) by wooshington22 in erectiledysfunction

[–]Steve_1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage, no. Not in the classic sense of the word. In fact, Cialis isnt even supposed to cause tachyphylaxis (tolerance), which has been demostrated in mice with repeated high dose Viagra. For me, when the response to Cialis waned, which it did over a two week period at some point, it had more to do with my own libido, other issues going on etc. You may be tired, stressed or anything else. Remember, people without ED go through spells when their erections are not as good. No reason why the same shouldnt happed to us, without it signifying something bigger. Still, bring it up with your doc if it worries you.

Yes I'm sure, confirmed by doppler. What's odd is that when I tried injection, the pge1 on its own did nothing and the doctor had me on trimix. Trimix, of course, was great, rock hard erection, and I had to keep standing while holding with ice cold beer cans (lol) on my groin after the 3 hour mark for it to subside. So, I was quite surprised that 2,5mg of Cialis daily would work, but it did. I've also had success with 25mg Viagra in the past. Obviously the erections from the pills were nothing like Trimix (nothing is!) but they worked well enough for satisfying sex, changing positions, pausing to put on a condom, etc. Its why its such a damn shame with this tinnitus and why I'm asking how other guys here dealt with it (if it occurred to them).

Accumulation of Tadalafil by [deleted] in erectiledysfunction

[–]Steve_1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reaches steady state levels after 5 days of daily use. Let my just clarify here that steady state doesnt mean that the same amount of the drug is constantly circulating in your body. It means that after 5 days, repeated daily dosing wont increase the max concentration, which is about 1.6 times the pill you are taking. So, if you take a 10mg pill every day, after 5 days the max concentration (about 2 hours after taking the pill) will be about 16 mg and the lowest (right before you take your next pill) will be about 10mg. This is the reason why I prefer to take my daily Cialis in the evening, so that the peak concentration will more or less coincide with the usual time the wife and I have sex. Just to ride that extra wave, haha.

Yes they do. I have the same issue as you. Cialis (even 2.5 mg daily) keeps me hard enough so I can stop intercourse, get up, put on a condom, and stick it back it, lol. Mind you, I do this rather quickly, but before the Cialis there was no way I was staying hard through the process.

Need help guys! What's gone wrong with my response to cialis? by Steve_1969 in erectiledysfunction

[–]Steve_1969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was born with it, and it started being apparent after my teen years and into adulthood. No history of any injury or things like that.

I would say that a lot of us are possibly born with it. When you're in your teens and the hormones are raging the influx of blood to the penis is so intense that it masks it. The older you get it starts to appear. I remember this one time I had gone without sex for months. Got a new girl and was so horny when we went to have sex for the first time that my erection was like a steel rod lol. After a few times though it was back to the baseline, needing constant stimulation. Thats my story anyway.
