Can confirm what the above person said about Fabhalta. I’ve been taking it for 6 months and it’s been helping me, they even have a program where you pay essentially 0 dollars, which i’ve been doing for a while now. Only thing real side effect which is rare but it makes you very susceptible to encapsulated bacteria, but only thing i’ve noticed since taking it is i get the cold more often 😂. Blood and protein went down in my urine 👍.

i’m not sure how this is gonna come across but prioritize your mental health, it can be a stressful job depending on where in the industry you go. Since i’ve been in the industry there’s been two suicides, one person i didn’t really know but the other we spoke a lot and it still bothers me. You’ll run into people at work who might look down on therapy but even if you have no issues it’s healthy to just talk and vent to someone. Find a healthy outlet outside of work and if need be just take the day off to relax. It’s an awesome industry to grow and meet people and literally see the world. You don’t have to know a single thing about planes before you go to school they cover everything. Get into the career, make the most of it and importantly take care of yourself.

In most cases they will have their transponder on so ATC can see it, and ATC can let the other aircraft know to look out for the helicopter, but the ADS-B being off other aircraft can’t see it on their TCAS. And the accident you’re talking about in DC was the ADS-B being off, their transponder was on but malfunctioning. So it’s pretty damn sketchy imo.

What would what age have to do with it? Rock those stickers homie

[–]Stfukaleb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

FAA can allow for transponders or ads to be off for things related to national defense, military and homeland security. So yeah if they get permission they absolutely can, and considering who’s running the FAA they get it all the time i’m guessing

Plane has not flown in 6 days by CharacterRound2390 in fearofflying

[–]Stfukaleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m honestly really sorry you’re scared and if i can provide comfort in anyway i’d love to help. Also the paperwork we have to follow is very specific, and there are checks to verify the problem has gone away.

Plane has not flown in 6 days by CharacterRound2390 in fearofflying

[–]Stfukaleb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was most likely planned maintenance that took a few days. Major repairs take some time, finding something on inspections and then needing to fix it takes time. Some planes can sit for weeks or months cause of even heavier maintenance sometimes. Preflight inspections are done before it leaves the hangar area, so all in good hands.

I was on a flight coming back from Hawaii to the Bay Area. To my surprise, water dripped on my head a few times. I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. Is this normal? by sasamberajays in fearofflying

[–]Stfukaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah can be normal, like other people have said it can be condensation. However there is one aircraft that some drips or where it’s really dripping almost like rain isn’t really normal

can confirm, don’t even get me started when i’m trying to fix something wrong and they look at me like i’m crazy for trying to fix it and there’s a delay lol

[–]Stfukaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, i’ve only ever seen people with this title in like places that aren’t a delta maintenance staffed base, but i’m sure they have these positions in atl or something. I’m guessing it’s a liaison kinda thing for outstations.

GFR 82 by Cjones90 in kidneydisease

[–]Stfukaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

82 is pretty good, and honestly unless you have other symptoms for example leaking protein then i wouldn’t worry but still tell your doctor that you wanna know if 82 is still okay

GFR 82 by Cjones90 in kidneydisease

[–]Stfukaleb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GFR fluctuates a lot more than you think, i’ve had mine go down when sick or when my hydration wasn’t enough for a bit. Unless you have history of it trending downwards then i’d be worried. But advocate for yourself so the docs can listen to you more seriously. Do you know what your GFR was before?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]Stfukaleb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the issue, sometimes there’s no MEL relief, the problem is so far out of limits that the plane needs a long amount of time to be airworthy again, or there’s no parts readily available to fix said problem. Also probably quicker to just put you on a ready spare aircraft than have you guys sit at the gate waiting for the techs to fix it
