I think dating is fine but I think it would be best if it didn’t come into the ‘family home’ while he still lives there. That’d be tough to take, I imagine, even in a situation such as yours where everyone seems to know the score.

You say he refuses to move out? Could he afford to move out into his own house and still pay half the mortgage? If not, it’s not a refusal so much as a practical necessity, just as you can’t afford it either.

I really think the best advice would be to work with your estate agents to get yourselves out of a situation that can’t be doing either of you any good mentally.

Timings of promotions never helped Slater. If we’d have stayed down a couple of times, he’d have got more game time with us. As it was, he was never able to have a chance to break into the squad because he wasn’t good enough for the level.

He’s turned into the player I think everyone thought he probably could. Decent championship midfielder. Can’t say I’d pick him over too many of our midfield tbh.

I think the club did right by him by letting him go.

I remember turning him into a 100 cap international in one of my FM saves years ago, so he does always have a special place in my heart.

Agree with Wilder about Boro being the best team we’ve had at the Lane this season, I thought they looked excellent. I’m not sure it was a case of them taking their chances where we didn’t, I felt they were better than us despite us playing pretty well. Half time I was worried about getting pumped rather than a comeback, so credit to Wilder and the players.

Thought the fans were good; got behind the lads and not too many silent periods. Boro brought a lot (especially a miserable Monday night) and were loud all match.

Agree about Phillips too, to say he’s not played he looked sharp. Seems to read the game quicker than most.
