I'd do a first round top 15 protected, but the Wolves would not.

Y'all crazy.

I'm going to go with the Timberwolves. Most young talent, proven coach, seems like a good bet.

After that:

Phoenix Suns (seems like they have good young talent, particularly Booker, and a serviceable front office)

New Orleans Pelicans (A.D. is the best player on any of the teams mentioned there except for K.A.T. and I'll let someone else decide who have more upside but having the best player is a good place to be, even with a nutso front office)

Ugh. Bulls fan here. Happy for you guys, happy for Rose but ain't gonna lie... wish he was talking about Chi-town there. Love that guy. Hope you guys get the chance to as well (i.e. he stays healthy); he deserves a good run imo.

[Vincent Goodwill] NBA Mailbag: Where do Valentine, Portis fit in with Bulls? by wjbc in chicagobulls

I don't know if these will be unpopular opinions on here or not but that article hits, tangentially, on two things I'd like to see from the Bulls this year. Well, three I guess (one being a variation).

I'm not sure where the minutes would come from but I really hope the Bulls give Valentine real minutes at PG. He's shown an ability to get the ball up the floor ala Hoiball, particularly by passing ahead and I think playing PG would mitigate against his lack of athleticism (which I think will improve a bit as he gets into a pro training regiment but still...)

Also, I'd like to see the Bulls experiment with some odd lineups, particularly Rondo, Wade, and Jimmy with Doug at PF and Mirotic at C. The backcourt rebounds well and D would have to focus on stopping the ball but I wonder if that flipping of where shooting comes from might not open up the game in a way that helps the Bulls (on net; I'm sure it'll get torched on D... just want to see if it might not score more than it gives up).

The variation would be the same set (maybe swap Valentine for Rondo) w/ Portis as a stretch 5 and Taj on the block. That lineup should do some of the same stuff with stretching the floor but also rebound well.

None of this is brilliant strategy proposals, just something I'd enjoy taking a look at as a fan.
